JAY-Z’s 4:44 Has Already Been Certified Platinum; New Visual Released
One week after JAY-Z re- turned with his 13th studio album 4:44, the 10-track LP has already been certified platinum by the RIAA.
The iconic emcee also re- leased another visual con- nected to the project.
The 8-minute, 30-second video features random inter- views, archival news footage, viral social media clips, con- cert shots of Beyonce & JAY performing “Drunk In Love,” candid moments of Blue Ivy Carter, and more.
Hov’s extremely personal song “4:44” plays as the im- agery’s soundtrack.
Previously, the Roc Nation head dropped an animated video for “The Story Of O.J.”

Waka Flocka Flame’s Newest Project Finally Gets Release Date
A new Atlanta landmark is gone.
Over the last several weeks, residents and tourists flocked to 2 Chainz’s “Trap House” on Howell Mill Road.
The Atlanta Journal-Con- stitution reports Chainz’s lease is up on the property and the pink coloring made famous by the hometown rap star is being painted over.
Besides serving as an effec- tive promotional tool for his Pretty Girls Like Trap Music album, Chainz also con- verted the space into a tem- porary art gallery, church, and HIV clinic.
The “Trap House” became a social media phenomenon as visitors posted photos of

themselves in front of the home.
Even though the Howell Mill Road house will no longer be the site of the popu- lar attraction, Chainz hinted he could be taking the idea on the road on August 1st.

Waka Flocka Flame’s
oft-delayed Flockavelli 2 is fi- nally out of limbo. The “Was My Dawg” rapper announced his long awaited album now has an October 5 release date.
A Reddit user grabbed a screenshot of Waka Flocka’s Snapchat, which can be seen below. The Brick Squad artist shared the simple cap- tion “F2 10/5/17” on the app.
Flockavelli 2 was originally announced back in 2013. Waka Flocka blamed At- lantic Records for the LP’s de- lays and often vented his frustrations about the situa- tion via social media. After ex- pressing discontent throughout 2015, Waka Flocka officially left Atlantic last year and cleared the way for Flockavelli 2’s release in doing so.
Ahead of the Sunday night’s (July 9) premiere of HBO’s The Defiant Ones — a docu-series based on the relationship be- tween Dr. Dre and record exec- utive Jimmy Iovine — director Allen Hughes spoke to Uproxx and revealed some interesting in- formation.

True Blood Star, 39, Dies From Heart Failure
Longtime Prince Drummer John Blackwell Jr. Dies
Sad news breaking just now, Nelsan Ellis of the long-run- ning hit HBO show True Blood, has died at the far-too-young age of 39 according to The Holly- wood Reporter.
His manager, Emily Gerson Saines, tells THR:
“Nelsan has passed away after complications with heart failure,” Saines said. “He was a great talent, and his words and presence will be forever missed.”
Nelsan was a long-time mem- ber of the HBO family whose groundbreaking portrayal of Lafayette will be remembered fondly within the overall legacy of True Blood.

Powerhouse Prince drum- mer John Blackwell Jr. has died. He was 43-years- old.
Blackwell's wife, Yari- tza, who updates her hus- band’s social media accounts, posted on Instagram Tues- day with a photo of her grasp- ing his hand. She wrote that he died “peacefully” in her company, adding, “Thanks God for his life and thanks everyone for their support.”
Blackwell, a master per- cussionist who performed with Prince for 15 years, was known for his unique style of drumming. He graduated from Berklee College of Music before being recruited by Prince in 2000 to play in his

band New Power Genera- tion. Blackwell also per- formed with Patti LaBelle, Justin Timberlake and Cameo.
He found out he had two brain tumors last year when he was in Japan to play at Blue Note Tokyo, a live jazz venue.
