The strangers must use their wits to survive the escape rooms. Director Adam Robitel did a great job keeping this thriller entertaining. Must see for the non-stop action scenes. Made $21M- U.S. (budget -$9M)-
****Aquaman (2018) - Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) must come to grip that he is the heir to the un- derwater kingdom of Atlantis. First, he must get through his evil brother King Orm (Patrick Wilson) who thinks he's responsible for killing their mother (Nicole Kidman) and the revengeful Manta ( Yahya Abdul-Matteen). Definitely surprised this DC film had a great storyline and off the chain action. Must- see for action fans. Still no.1 at box office- $266M- U.S./ foreign-- $696M (budget-$200M)- *****
Bumblebee (2018) - On the run from Decepticons, the transformer Bumblebee and girl, Charlie(Hailee Steinfeld), join forces to fight a hit quad of deadly Decepticons who wants to destroy Bumblebee. Surprisingly, Director Travis Knight ( Kudo) made this transformer film fun to watch. Made $100M - U.S./ foreign- $207M- (budget-$135M)- ***1/2
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse - Director Bob Persichetti and Peter Ramsey direct a fresh new animation straight out of Brooklyn of Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) who becomes the Spider Man of his reality and crosses path with other Spider Counterparts to stop evil villains who want to destroy all reality. Must admit this was excellent. The soundtrack was banging and the action was on point. Should win an Oscar for best animation. Must see for kids and adults. Made - $136M U.S./for- eign- $140M- (budget-$90M)--Classic -five stars.
Ralph Breaks The Internet - Six years later with the Box office mega-hit ‘Wreck-It- Ralph, Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly) and Vanelope (voice by Sarah Silverman) discover a wi-fi router in their ar- cade, leading them into a new adventure, the Internet. This animation was made for adults. Kids will enjoy, but not understand the sophistication of the Internet. Still worth seeing. A little long, 2hrs/10mins- Made - $187M/ foreign- $217M- (budget- $175M)- ***1/2
Creed II - Under the training of Rocky Balboa ( Sylvester Stallone), light heavyweight contender Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) faces his biggest challenge against Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu), son of Russian Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren). Another Black Director scores a Box Office Hit. Director Steven Caple, Jr. put together a dramatic, action-pack sequel that everyone would enjoy. Screenwriters Ryan Coogler (Black Panther) and Cheo Cooker (Notorious) did a great job bringing out the characters. A must-see for action fans! Made - $114M- U.S. foreign $37M (budget- $50M)- ****
Widows - Four Chicago women (Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriquez, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erico) with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands (Liam Neeson), take fate into their own hands to save their lives from a violent, debt-collecting drug gang (Brian Henry, Daniel Kaluua-Get Out). Director Steve McQueen put together a well-written crime thriller that might be the best this year. A MUST-SEE for action fans! Made 42M- U.S./foreign- $32M- (budget-$42M)- classic
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) - A chronicle of the years on how the iconic group Queen rose to fame that led to the legendary appearance at the LIVE AID in 1985. Lead singer Freddie Mercury (Rami Malek) was one of the best singer, songwriter and performer’s of all-time. Director Bryan Singer did a great job keeping the film all about the music. Made $194M- U.S./ $553M- foreign- (budget- $52M)- ****
