REV. CLARENCE AND SIS. COOKIE GUNTER
It is with mixed emotions that our community bid a fond farewell to one of our beloved and well-known anointed couples from this area!
Rev. Clarence and Sis- ter Cookie Gunter will be relocating this month to Co- lumbia, SC, where they have been called to a position of leadership and have ac- cepted the calling of stew- ardship for a well-established church in that area.
The Gunters have circu- lated throughout the Tampa Bay communities since the early 1990s. During their tenure here, they have been a part of some of Florida’s top musical entities, includ- ing but not limited to, the Exciting Gospel War- riors; the Gospel Mira- clettes; the Harmony Winds; Anointed & Or- dained Ministries (founded and organized by the Gunters); and many
others.
Additionally, they have
been a part of many choirs, such as St. John Progressive, Heritage Christian Commu- nity, Up With Life Ministries and Beulah Baptist, just to name a few.
They attribute this blessed opportunity to the constant encouragement as well as the awesome teach- ings and leadership of min- isters such as Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, of St John Progressive MBC; Rev. Dr. Delores James Cain, of Heritage Christian Community Church; and most of all, Rev. Dr. W. James Favorite, of Beulah Baptist Institutional Church, who is their current pastor.
A “Farewell Musical Cel- ebration” has been planned for Sunday, January 13th at 3:30 p. m. at New Rising Star Ministries, 1509 E. North Bay St. in Tampa, and is open to the public. Stop by and wish them well.
