What Have Our Words Done?
What have we really be- come in the United States of America? The leader of our free world appears to not believe his derogatory and demeaning language produces hate. Hateful words produce hate, which often leads to hate crimes. Hate language transforms the mind to think that superiority and supremacy are acceptable in a land built on the hope of equality.
I never thought in my lifetime that I would see so much division and hate from the Whitehouse Leadership, which is hav- ing a trickle-down effect to our states and citizens. Se- bring, Florida; Gilroy, Cal- ifornia; El Paso, Texas; and Dayton, Ohio have all become the definition of hate crimes.
We have war zones on
the land our forefathers swore to protect while of- fering freedom and lib- erty. America is hurting after several mass shoot- ings resulted in fatalities. Our great country is in pain and it seems to fall on deaf ears on Capitol Hill.
Words have both posi- tive and negative power. These last days of 2019 can cause you to wonder about the legacy of your lan- guage. We are heading into 2020 where the power of our words have the abil- ity to transform our na- tion. It is important for us to love all not hate all, in our words and deeds.
What we say is impor- tant.
