‘100 Women Who Care’ Donates $9,300 To Guardian Ad Litem
Foundation Of Tampa Bay
Last Wednesday, 100 Women Who Care of Pinellas County presented the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay with a $9,300 donation.
The mission of the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay is to provide advocacy and support for abused, abandoned
or neglected children in the Guardian ad Litem Program of Pinellas and Pasco Counties. Federal legislation requires that every abused and neglected child removed from their home have their best interests repre- sented by a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) in court.
These volunteer child advo- cates are central to fulfilling so- ciety’s most fundamental obligation to protect our chil- dren. Guardian ad Litem volun- teers are the voice of the child in court and the child’s best inter- est is their only interest. They help them both in and out of the courtroom to make sure the children’s needs are met by the system and they are often the only consistent adult in a child’s life.
100 Women Who Care of Pinellas County is a philan- thropic group that provides an avenue for women to join to- gether to bring financial support to local, charitable organiza- tions. Members commit to at- tending four meetings per year (one per quarter) and pledge to donate $100 to an elected char- ity at each meeting.
