Albert Owens, Also Known As ‘Bucified’, Celebrates 30 Years With TV Station
Albert “Bucified” Owens
is coming up on his 30th an- niversary. “Yes, December 19, 2020 will be 30 years, at WFLA TV,” he said.
He explains his 30 years:
“My mother prayed, in the early 90s, after I was told, by my boss, that they could not guarantee me 30 years. My mom left me in 2004, but as she said, then, in the 90s, “if it’s the Lord’s will, I will get 30 years.”
Owens said he went to Channel 8, from a Temp Serv- ice. The job was only to last 1 day, and Albert was the only one of the 6 men, that was asked to come back, for a 2nd day, then a 3rd day, then weeks, and months, now on December 19, it will be 30 years.
“I feel like I was blessed to be a blessing, for the next gen- eration, using the platform to build the character Bucified, in- tegrity driven lifestyle to help my community. I thank God, that my mother, Emma Lee The Legend, helped me to get a relationship, with my Higher Power, and God, sent me a lot of scholarship recipients, to help me honor my mother’s legacy. She was an awesome person and she raised me to be a hard worker, positive role model who respects others, as well as a person who knows how to tactfully command re- spect when needed.”
One of the Bucified & OLE Is Alive Dream Seekers re- cipients was not in the United States Of America in Jan. 2004, when Bucified lost his mother, but arrived in May, 2004. That person won the Scholoship in 2008, and has been a blessing ever since.
“She understands the pro- gram very well, and was the 1st of 17, to get a Master’s Degree, from FSU, down the street, where my Mother Emma Lee, was born in 1930.

birthday,” and Bucified helped her get accepted into UCF Spring Classes.
Owens’ community work has touched the lives of so many. With the assistance of two of Tampa’s largest organi- zations (Tampa Bay Bucs, NFL franchise, and WFLA NBC Af- filiate), he is known throughout the community.
“As one of the Bucs Super Fans, dealing with COVID-19, I have not missed a Bucs Foot- ball Game that the CDC, and the state of Florida’s Governor said that it was safe to attend, and I’m able to bring a guest,” Bucified said.
“My success is attributed only to my mother who proph- esied into my life from birth, naming me after my great grandfather, a visionary and leader in his community in the 19th century. She was proud of his accomplishments and be- stowed on me the honor to carry on the family’s legacy. I had the honor of visiting his es- tate in 2011 in Monticello, Florida.”
The ideology and philoso- phy of the B.U.C.I.F.I.E.D acronym is a compilation of wisdom and experiences gained growing up, as well as the life lessons he learned throughout 30 years working in the media. Living this integrity-driven lifestyle and being Bucified means to, "Be Understanding

the notion that a stranger can be detrimental to our future and we should be wise and dis- cerning. A lifestyle that does not succumb to peer and polit- ical pressures, but one that stands up for the right thing and chooses wisdom and hon- ors healthy and productive habits in all aspects of life.”
