Man’s Death At Bridge Ruled Suicide
Three Arrested For Robbery, Shooting At Deputies
    NOTE: Law enforce- ment does not routinely release information about suicides. However, the fol- lowing information was released with the consent of his family.
The death of a 35-year-old man discovered on the Rowlett Park bridge has been ruled a sui- cide. The man’s body was discov- ered last Wednesday morning.
According to police, Tampa Police received a call from a wit- ness regarding a male on fire and hanging from the Rowlett Park Bridge. Tampa
Police Officers and Tampa Fire Rescue were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Tampa Police and Tampa Fire Rescue responded and as quickly as possible, retrieved the adult male, who was suspended from the bridge.
Officers lowered the man to the river, and attempted to pro- vide immediate emergency first aid and comfort. He was then placed on a stretcher and trans- ported to Tampa General Hospi- tal, where he was pronounced dead.
Evidence collected at the scene suggested this was an in- tentional suicide. Interviews

    Man Charged With Manslaughter In
Rowlett Park Bridge, N. 22nd Street & Rowlett Park Drive
Deputies have arrested three young adults and charged them with an overnight robbery and shooting incident in Ruskin.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, a vic- tim arrived at a home on the 500 block of 7th Avenue NE, in Ruskin, to meet with known in- dividuals.
While at the home, two known residents robbed the vic- tim at gunpoint, striking the vic- tim several times during the incident. The victim was ulti- mately able to flee the property and report the incident at an HCSO District Office.
Deputies responded to the home and attempted to locate the suspects. Upon arrival, they heard multiple shots fired to- wards them from the property. The deputies immediately took cover, announcing themselves as HCSO and demanding the sus- pects’ exit the home.
A short time later, Miguel Mendiola, 17, and Gerardo Rios, 20, exited the home with- out incident. Deputies located an
AR-15 style rifle, a 40mm pistol and marijuana inside the home.
Bullet holes were later dis- covered in a mailbox post. No deputies were injured during the incident.
Mendiola was charged with six counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, robbery with a firearm and petit theft.
Rios was also charged with six counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon, in addition to possession of marijuana with in- tent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation.
A third suspect was identified as 30-year-old Isaiah Hernan- dez.
Police determined that Her- nandez was involved in the ini- tial robbery, but left the home before the shooting incident. He was located Thursday, December 10, and arrested during a traffic stop.
Hernandez faces charges of robbery with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and petit theft.
with the family regarding the mental health history and prior actions of the 35-year-old sup- port this conclusion.
While this remains an active investigation, the concerns for those in mental health crisis are in the public interest. Tampa Po- lice Detectives continue to work with the family of the 35-year- old male. The family has shared his history of mental health is- sues and they understand the concern of the public as well.
Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan said, “We also continue our ongoing partnership with the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay to ensure that the family has access to any help and psychological
first aid they may need during this extremely difficult time.
“This tragedy is an additional trauma for the family, the re- sponding officers, paramedics, and the community who were witnesses. With the holiday sea- son upon us, loneliness, and pandemic fatigue are even greater concerns for those in mental health crisis.
“It is important we look out for our family, our neighbors, and each other. Help can be a phone call away, whether you call the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay at 211 or call 911 in an immi- nent emergency - someone is there to answer your call,” he concluded.
Gunshot Victim Found Dead In Seffner Roadway
The fatal shooting took place in the 5000 block of Bog- donoff Drive, in Seffner.
Law enforcement are currently investigating a shooting that left a man dead. The incident took place shortly after 6 p.m., Monday.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 5000 block of Bogdonoff Drive, in Seffner after receiving several 9-1-1 calls about shots being fired. When deputies arrived, they found an unrespon- sive man lying in the roadway.
Hillsborough County Fire Res- cue arrived at the scene and pro- nounced the man dead.
Investigators have not re- leased any additional information pertaining to the shooting.

  Fatal Shooting
  A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting. The incident took place in Plant City on November 25th.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to South Florida Baptist Hospital, 301 N Alexander Street, in Plant City, in reference to a shooting.
When they arrived, they learned that an adult male victim had been transported to the hos- pital with a gunshot wound. Life- saving measures were performed on the victim, but he later died as a result of his injury.
Detectives investigating the shooting that took place shortly before 9:30 p.m., learned that the shooting occurred on the 5000 block of Sydney Road. They obtained a search warrant and responded to that location, detectives conducted interviews

with the occupants of the home. They learned that the shooter and the victim knew each other. The information gathered, led
them to Luis Jose Coronado. Coronado was arrested on December 8th and charged with manslaughter with a firearm. He was taken into custody in Polk
County.
