Tracy Chapman Sues Nicki Minaj Over Nas Collaboration ‘Sorry’
Alleged Victims Call R. Kelly 'The Devil' And 'Puppetmaster' In Upcoming Lifetime Docuseries
 R. Kelly is the subject of a new Lifetime docuseries ti- tled Surviving R. Kelly. Fea- turing interviews with several of Kelly’s alleged victims, the six-part series will air in three installments beginning on Jan- uary 3.
The network has released the first trailer for the three- day event. As the clip begins, one woman lays out Kelly’s various personas.
“There’s a difference be- tween R. Kelly and Robert. R. Kelly’s this fun, laughing,
R. KELLY
loving guy,” she says. “But Robert ... is the devil.”
According to Variety, Sur- viving R. Kelly features over
50 interviews with everyone from R&B singer Sparkle (a former Kelly protégé) and John Legend to talk show host Wendy Williams, civil rights activist Tarana Burke and Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea Kelly.
Over the past 25 years, sev- eral women have accused the notorious R&B singer of sexual, mental and physical abuse. He was acquitted in a 2000 child pornography case and was most recently accused of running a “sex cult.”
’90s singer Tracy Chap- man is reportedly suing Nicki Minaj for rip- ping off one of her original songs. According to TMZ, Chapman claims Minaj stole 1988’s “Baby Can I Hold You” for her own track “Sorry” featuring Nas, which was initially sup- posed to be on Nicki’s fourth album Queen.
Nicki was well aware she needed permission to use parts of Chapman’s song. In June, Minaj and her team made multiple requests to li- cense “Baby Can I Hold You” and all requests were denied. Failure to get the license was one of the reasons she cited for Queen’s delay.
In August, she tweeted, “So there’s a record on #Queen that features 1 of the greatest rappers of all time. Had no clue it sampled the legend #TracyChapman — do I keep my date & lose the record? Or do I lose the record
NICKI MINAJ
& keep my date? Do we push #Queen back 1week? Ugh! I’m torn, y’all help. Tracy Chapman, can you please hit me. omg for the love of #Queen.”
