Sister Of Popular Tampa Business Owner Dies

The sister of a longtime Tampa businessman, Marvin Knight, died on October 21st. Mrs. Delores Holt was 66- years-old.
Mrs. Cassandra Thomas, daughter of Mrs. Holt, said her mother had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year. She underwent treat- ment and had been cancer-free for 10 months. However, a very aggressive form of the disease returned three months ago.
A native of Dade City, Mrs. Holt attended the public schools of Pasco County. She graduated from Zephyrhills High School, and married her high school sweetheart, Ed- ward Holt. The couple became the parents of two children, Mrs. Thomas and her brother, Tiki Holt.
After her marriage, Mrs. Holt traveled extensively as a military wife. After settling back in her hometown, she became employed with K-Mart Corpo- ration, earning recognition for her work ethics.

A people person, Mrs. Holt enjoyed being active in her
church, Victorious Church Of God In Christ, Zephyrhills, where she served as President of the Usher Board. She was also an active member in other Usher Board organizations around the state.
Mrs. Holt was family-ori- ented and was always available to provide advice, words of sup- port, or to attend events and celebrations, her daughter said.

“We are still going to have the event on Sunday in honor of my sister. Members of the com- munity are invited to come out, meet Sheriff Chronister, newly promoted Col. Wayne Bunton, and others. There will be free food and entertain- ment.”
The event will take place on Sunday, October 28th, at Ragan Park Community Center, 1200 E. Lake Avenue, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
