Retirement Celebration Held Honoring Educator

Bernard “TBoo” Wash- ington wanting to share with the Progress Village Community that his mother, Mrs. Marian Washing- ton, turned 96 years old on February 18th.
She was one of the first settlers in the Village.
Bernard will be celebrat- ing his birthday on May 28th.
We wish you and your mother many more!

On April 11th at the College Hill Conference Center, a “Retirement Celebration of Love” was held for Mrs. Pauline L. Williams, honoring 42 years of Educa- tional Enrichment.
The Mistress of Ceremony for the event was Ms. Sonja K. Patterson, niece of the honoree.
Melodic moments were given by Deacon Fred Broxton, Mr. Alex Johnson (honoree’s godson) and Mrs. Victoria Fabian (honoree’s goddaughter). Ms. Ella Lightbody presented the honoree to the audience and she was escorted by Master Xander Williams (honoree’s grandson), and Cy’Keria Williams (honoree’s great granddaughter).
A Poem of Admiration was given by Ms. Ashley M. Berry (honoree’s granddaughter); a Celebration Serenade by Mr. Lonzo Paul Williams (the youngest son of the honoree) and Mrs. Veronica Williams (daughter-in-law of the honoree) spoke about a “Woman Of Strength.” (PHOTOS BY SYLVESTER HARRIS)
