MS. ANNIE MAE CAREY
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26th, at the Re-Birth Missionary Baptist Church, 1924 E. Comanche Av- enue, Tampa, FL. The Pastor, Reverend Dr. Zachary Hudson, will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Tampa.
Ms. Annie Mae Carey was born July 10, 1937 in Tampa, to Katherine B. Carey and Mose Carey and passed away on Octo- ber 20, 2016 in Tampa. She was married to John Blair who pre- ceded her in death.
Annie Mae grew up in Tampa where she graduated from Mid- dleton High School. After grad- uating from Gibbs Junior College, she attended Florida A & M College (now University) where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elemen- tary Education. She later earned a Master’s Degree in El- ementary Education at the Uni- versity of South Florida in Tampa, FL.
Annie Mae taught elemen- tary school in the public school system of Hillsborough County where she retired after serving young people for more than 36 years. She dedicated her entire professional career to strength- ening young minds both intel- lectually and socially to prepare them for the future they would eventually face. Her primary goal for each student she taught was to increase their capacity to achieve their full educational and personal potential.
Annie Mae genuinely loved and cared about both the stu- dents and their families.
Annie Mae loved and cared for her family only as she could do. She loved to cook for family and friends and frequently did so, sometimes while fussing about having to cook for so many people and loving it at the same time. She was a dedicated member of the Charmettes for almost 35 years and frequently tried to recruit others to join so that they too could help im- prove the quality of life of the community in which they lived.
She was a member of Re- Birth Missionary Baptist Church, where she served the Lord and her community through various missions, in- cluding Charmettes.
Annie Mae was preceded in death by: her mother, father and daughter, Stephanie Juanita Blair-Jenkins.
She is survived by: her daughter, Shari E. Blair; grand- sons, Shaminda Fields, KeMar- tia Jenkins; brothers, Edward L. Carey, Mose (Moses) Carey Jr., (Peggy Richmond); sister, Darlene A. Matthews (Jeffrey Chad); nieces, Katrena Stodgill (Henry), Valerie Carey, An- ndrea Carey Baskett (Sean), Jasmine Carey and Zenzi- Hokins Mason; nephews, Philip Carey, Kenya Scott, Terrone Finley, step- nephew, Alex Worlds; cousins, Sharea Ann Harper, Mary Ann Harper,
Mary Ann Nealy, Gladys Nealy, Minnie Lee Stebbins, Joyce Guess (Russell), Sharon Carey, Jesse (Toy) Carey and Oliver Carey, Jr. She also leaves a host of other beloved relatives and friends who shared her love and friendship for over 79 years.
Visitation will be held Tues- day from 5–8 p. m. with the fam- ily being present from 5–6 p. m. at the Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa.

MR. JOHN J. SEMPER, SR.
Mr. John J. Semper, Sr., age 96, passed away October 17, 2016, in Tampa, Florida.
Formerly of Brookline and Boston, MA, he was the last of four children from Thomas and Lillian Buffong Semper of Montserrat, British West Indies.
He was preceded in death by: his wife to whom he was devoted, Julia Semper; and daughter, Lil- lian Semper Ross.
He is survived by: five chil- dren, Claudia Semper of Tampa, Judith Semper of Medford, MA, John, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, Thomas Semper of Tampa, and Terri Semper of Jersey City, NJ. In addition he leaves grand- daughter, Alisa Ross of Rum- ford, RI and great granddaughter, Liliana Eaves of Providence, RI and niece, Pamela Cheek and family of Boston, MA.

Two People Killed In Traffic Accidents

Celebration of Life Service for Sister Barbara Lee Ingram will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016, 1 p. m. at International Harvest Church of God, 5512 N, 47th St., Tampa, 22610, Bishop Francis Maxwell, Pastor, Elder Gary L Williams, of Calvary Cross Road to Glory Pentecostal Church, Tampa, Officiating Pas- tor.
Her remains will repose on Friday, October 28, 2016, at In- ternational Harvest Church of God. The family will be receiving friends, 6-8 p. m.
Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at ap- proximately 12:45 p. m. for the service.

The Florida Highway Pa- trol investigated two fatal ac- cidents in as many days. Both occurred in Pinellas County.
According to a spokesper- son for the Florida Highway Patrol, shortly after 7 a.m., on Tuesday, a fatal accident in- volving a pedestrian took place on County Road 611 at 49th Street.
Earnest Lee Taylor, 55, of Kenneth City, was initially walking in the median. Jesse John Nowak, 20, also of Kenneth City, was driving a 2005 Toyota Scion north-
bound on 49
Officials said Taylor
stepped into the path of Nowak’s vehicle. He was transported to a local hospi- tal, where he died as a result of his injuries. No charges are expected to be filed in the case, police said.
Troopers responded to In- terstate 275 and Gandy Blvd., around 11:30 p.m., Monday in reference to a traffic acci- dent.
Police said Ms. Danyella Lee Gieder, 25, of Tampa, was driving a 2007 Nissan Al- tima northbound on I-275 in the inside lane. For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, went to the shoul- der of the road and collided with a guardrail.
After striking the guardrail, the car traveled back across the roadway and collided with a concrete bridge support on the shoul- der of the road.
Ms. Gieder was trans- ported to Bayfront Health Hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Critically
Injured In
A traffic accident Monday evening left a pedestrian in critical condition. The man has not been identified.
According to police, the ac- cident took place at 7:37 p.m. Two cars became involved in an accident. One of the cars struck a bus pavilion on the east side of 4th Street S., just north of 21st Avenue, S.
Police have not deter- mined if the man injured in the accident was at the bus stop or just near it when he was injured. The man was transported to Bayfront Health Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
The drivers of the vehicles were not seriously injured. The investigation is continu- ing.
