A new non-profit organiza- tion, “Women - Centered 4 Success” partners with Hills- borough County Parks and Recreation to host a fall festi- val and free market commu- nity outreach event for the residents of Progress Village, Clair Mel, and Palm River.
It’s not every day you can go to an event, bring your own bags, and pick up free clothes, shoes, and gently used home décor. In addition, the Greater Palm River CDC, the Family Promise of Brandon, CareerSource of Tampa, ECHO, True Love Ministries, Dress for Success, Progress Village Academy, Absolute Luxury, Inc., and Lakewood Community Church of God will be among the many or- ganizations supporting this Community Outreach Event.
The fall festival and free market will take place on Sat- urday, November 5, 2016 from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. at the Emanuel P. Johnson Commu- nity Center, 5855 South 78thSt. Come out and enjoy the festivities and bring the kids.
The festival is a target for the residents of zip code 33619, but the community is invited. Residents from the 33619 zip code who visit each of the booths at the festival will be given a special ticket that will make them eligible for a special gift.
Women – Centered 4 Suc- cess was organized this past June by Mrs. Sheila Lewis.
“Our focus is young women 18-40 years old who we want to mentor,” stated Ms. Lynne McKinley-Pate, Secretary of the organization. “We are not a crisis-based or- ganization, we want to provide resources” she said.
“In our research, we found there are more than 7,000 non-profit organizations, but young folks are not able to ac- cess the information they need. What we’ve decided to
