Driver, Passenger Arrested After Accident
The Tampa Police Depart- ment reports they have identi- fied a person of interest in the murder of 30-year-old La- toya Smith, a mother of three children.
On Thursday evening, Ms. Smith’s body was found in the middle of the 2100 block of West Flora. Police said she had suffered a fatal head in- jury, and she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A black Dodge Charger reg- istered to Ms. Smith was in- volved in a hit-and-run crash near Cass Street and Willow Avenue shortly after she was found. A Black male wearing a red shirt and black shorts was seen running from the Charger.
Investigators learned from witnesses that Ms. Smith

terview Huggins as he was the last person to see Ms. Smith alive.
Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a driver and passenger for a number of charges, including DUI, fleeing and eluding, leav- ing the scene of an accident, and being a felon in posses- sion of a firearm.
On Saturday at 7:44 p.m., deputies said a crash occurred in the southbound curb lane of U. S. 19, North, just north of Tampa Road between Coral Landings Boulevard and Tampa Road.
According to investigators, Anthony Lockinour, 23, was seen driving in a reckless manner by deputies traveling south on U. S. 19, North in Palm Harbor. A deputy acti- vated his emergency lights to attempt a traffic stop. Deputies did not pursue Lockinour.
Within minutes, deputies said Lockinour crashed into the rear of a pickup truck driven by 50-year-old Terry Johnson.
After Lockinour hit Johnson’s truck, he contin- ued driving south on U. S. 19, North for a short distance be- fore his truck was disabled due to crash damage.
Johnson and his passen- ger sustained minor injuries after being struck by Locki- nour’s vehicle.
Deputies detained Locki- nour and his passenger, Kyle Smith, 20. A search of Lock- inour’s truck revealed a stolen handgun, crack cocaine and individual packets of spice.

volving serious injury, and DUI with injury.
Smith was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in pos- session of ammunition, and grand theft of a firearm.
