Sisters Network President Urges Women To ‘Stop The Silence’
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
Having traveled the road from diagnosis to completion of treatment, Ms. Loustine (Lois) Cato is a breast can- cer survivor. She is also the President of Sisters Network, Tampa Bay Chapter.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ms. Cato’s message is sim- ple and to the point, “Stop the Silence. Early detection gives you a fighting chance. Let’s educate our community.”
Ms. Cato’s journey began when she was diag- nosed with Stage 1A Invasive Carcinoma Breast Cancer in May 2014. She underwent surgery, which was followed

by sessions of radiation ther- apy.
Having survived her jour-
ney, Ms. Cato now wants to encourage and help other women. In order to accom- plish this goal, she founded Just Talk, Inc., an organiza- tion that gives women an out- let to share their experiences in a safe environment and where they will not be judged. Ms. Cato said the organization was a ministry that developed during her journey.
A native of Blytheville, Arkansas, Ms. Cato enjoys volunteering with various or- ganizations, volunteering at church, and with the Faces of Courage. The mother of two also enjoys riding her motor- cycle with the Band of Roses, an all female, all African American motorcycle club.

Workshop Planned To Discuss Safety In The Community
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
On any given day, someone in the Tampa Bay Area die as a result of a traffic accident. And all of the victims are not drivers.
In the last month, pedestrians and bicyclists have been killed in accidents. The statistics also show that several motorcyclists have also died or have been seriously injured in traffic acci- dents.
A local organization is currently seeking input from the community pertaining to public safety. The organization, known as Vision Zero, will host a workshop on Tuesday, October 25th, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., at Ragan Park Com- munity Center, 1200 E. Lake Avenue.
There are chapters of the Vision Zero Organ-
ization is located in several cities throughout the United States.
Ms. Gena Torres, spokesperson for the organization said the purpose of the organiza- tion is to find ways to reduce the number of deaths associated with traffic accidents. “We are going to talk about ways to make intersections safer because even 1 traffic death is too many.”
This will be the first of four workshops planned. During this workshop, those in atten- dance will create a Vision Zero Action Plan and begin implementing an action plan that will re- sult in “zero” traffic fatalities in Hillsborough County.
Anyone wanting to obtain additional infor- mation or who has questions can contact Ms. Torres at (813) 273-3774, extension 357; or by email at torresg@plancom.org.

Seeking Godly Wisdom And Discernment
Lord, I pray that You would give the gifts of wisdom, discernment, and revelation to (name of child). Help her (him) to trust You with all her (his) heart, not depending on her (his) own un- derstanding, but acknowledging You in all her (his) ways so that she (he) may hear Your clear di- rection as to which path to take (Proverbs 3:5-6). Help her (him) to discern good form evil and be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit saying, This is the way, walk in it (Isaiah 30:21). I know that much of her (his) happiness in life depends on gaining wisdom and discernment, which Your Word says brings long life, wealth, recognition, protection, enjoyment, contentment, and happi- ness. May all these things come to her (him) because of Your gift of wisdom.
A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is the grief of his mother. PROVERBS 10:1
Lord, Your Word says, The fear of the LROD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding (Proverbs 9:10) May a healthy fear and knowledge of You be the foundation upon which wisdom and discernment are established in (name of child). May she (he) turn to You for all decisions so that she (he) doesn’t make poor choices. Help her (him) to see that all the treasurers of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in You and that You give of them freely when we ask for them. As she (he) seeks wisdom and discernment form You, Lord, pour it liberally upon her (him) so that all her (his) paths will be peace and life.
Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; for her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold. PROBERBS 3:13-14
