Dorothye Reed, Wife Of Coach Billy Reed, To Be Laid To Rest
Mrs. Dorothye B. Reed, wife of the late Coach Billy Reed, has earned her heavenly wings at 84 years of age.
The native of Ocala, FL, is a graduate of Howard Academy and earned her Bachelor and her Master Degrees in Education from the illustrious Florida Agri- cultural and Mechanical University.
After graduation, she in- terned/taught at Philip Shore Elementary, Meacham Elementary, Mid- dleton Sr. High, and George Washington Jr. High and Young Middle School, where she retired after 40 years of service.
During those years, she served as dance teacher, cheerleading coach, health and physical education
Phi Beta Sorority, Incorpo- rated, where she served as first Anti- Basileus of Beta Sigma Zeta Chapter and charter member of Tau Pi Zeta Chapter. She also di- rected and advised the Ar- chonettes, the Blue Revue and Sir Debonaire.
She was a member of New Hope Missionary Bap- tist Church when physically able, where she served as the tutoring and after school program coordinator.
Mrs. Reed had a pas- sion for developing and preparing youth for the fu- ture. Her community im- pact was focused on youth. Whether it was transporting youth on college tours, training youth on Roberts Rules of Orders, developing leadership skills, providing love and support and engag-
ing youth in civil rights, she prepared youth for the fu- ture.
She fervently prayed for her family, friends and for- mer students, and all you that she impacted over the years. She was proud of her former students and always cherished great memories of her years of teaching.
She is preceded in death

She leaves in mourning, devoted and loving daugh- ters, Monica Reed Rodgers (Greg), Dori Reed Blanc (Eric); grandchildren, Alexandria Benton, Kendal Blanc and Eric Blanc, II.

Free Laundry Day
Current Initiatives has partnered with the Tampa Police Dept. for a Laundry Project. Free Laundry Day will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022. The event for first come-first served patrons will be held at Suncoast Laundromats, 905 E. 20th Ave., Tampa (33605), 3-6 p. m. The last wash in at 5:30 p. m.
