   HART Partners With Hillsborough County Commissioner Gwen Myers To Host Health And Wellness Fair
 Hillsborough County Com- missioner Gwen Myers is partnering with HART (Hills- borough Area Transit Author- ity) to host a Health & Wellness Fair for the community in recognition of this year’s Black History Month theme of “Cele- brating Pioneers of Black Health & Wellness.”
This free outdoor event will highlight organizations and re- sources with a variety of booths to learn new approaches for conquering current health & wellness concerns.
The expo will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 9 AM to 12 PM, outside of the Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church (1207 N. Jeffer- son Street, Tampa, FL 33602); near the HART Marion Transit Center in Downtown Tampa).

Featured services include free COVID-19 testing, free HIV testing from Cove Behavioral Health, health and wellness re- sources, free samples, and addi- tional education from vendors, including Tampa Family Health Centers, Hillsborough County services, WellCare, Health Plus
One, Aetna, CarePlus, Family Healthcare Foundation, Florida Blue, Humana, Cigna, Grace- point, Seniors in Service, TBARTA, and more.

has coordinated many events for the community in the past, such as a COVID-19 Vaccina- tion drive last year, and numer- ous homeless outreach programs. This partnership with HART on the Health & Wellness Fair aims to reduce the disparity of access to educa- tion and services such as healthcare and testing, particu- larly in the African-American community.

    Renters To Share Their Housing Struggles With City Council
 On Thursday, February 24th, dozens of Tampa resi- dents will share their housing struggles during a Tampa City Council workshop. Those in attendance will gather on the steps of the City Council to urge Council members to take action on rent control measures.
The workshop is at 1:30 p. m., at Tampa City Council, 315 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL (City Hall Court- yard).
Other than the impacted renters, those expected to participate are: community activists, and a community- based coalition of nonprofits and churches, including
Florida Rising, Fight for $15, Pastors on Patrol, Tampa Bay Clergy, Faith in Florida, Proj- ect Link, What We Can Be, The Hillsborough Urban League, COACH Foundation, Central Florida Jobs for Jus- tice, Student Power Network, African-American Muslim Al- liance, Masjid An Nasr, The Center for Economic Devel- opment, Color of Change, Hillsborough Democratic Black Caucus, Hillsborough County Progressive Caucus, LULAC, CDC of Tampa, At- torney Sean Shaw, Jack- son Heights Neighborhood Association and Crime Watch, Community United and Tammy Shamburger.
