 Potential Applicant Orientation Planned
HCC Ybor City Celebrates Fifty Years Of Innovation And Inspiration
   The Ybor City Campus of Hillsborough Community College, (HCC), will celebrate the college’s 50th anniver- sary with a campus-wide fes- tival. The event will take place Thursday, October 11 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Events include a stu- dent life and workforce show- case as well as a celebration of the arts. The events are free and open to the public.
Some of the events in- clude:
10a.m.–7p.m. Gallery Exhibition (YPAB Gallery/YPAB 2nd Floor Lobby/YADM 3rd Floor Gallery)
YPAB Gallery: “Dor- mant,” is a solo exhibition by well-recognized Tampa artist Edgar Sanchez- Cumbas, HCC alumnus and current art instructor in the HCC Ybor City Campus Vi- sual Arts Department.
YPAB 2nd Floor Lobby: The artwork of cur-
rent and past HCC students will be on display.
YADM Maze Gallery: The work of HCC alumni Kaylin Price and Jessica Barber will be featured.

HCC Ybor celebrates His- panic Heritage Month with a speaker from the Dali Mu- seum, followed by Panaman- ian and Flamenco dancing, cultural displays, food and special performances by the HCC Jazz Band.

Trucks representing voca- tions from the workforce pro- grams will be parked in the YADM parking lot. Among these are a ladder truck, a po- lice unit and a diesel 18- wheeler cab.

HCC celebrates alumni and student art and music with a reception, featured artist talk, HCC Jazz Ensem- bles and works by students on display.

Celebrate notable alumni as well as past presidents, faculty and staff. Reception will feature roaming per- formers and jazz ensembles. Hors d'oeuvres, finger foods and desserts will be served.

Celebrate The Arts
with performances by past and present faculty, staff, alumni and students. The evening showcase will feature uniquely fun and entertain- ing performances by artists who have been inspired by HCC.
 The Hillsborough County Public Schools Charter Office will hold a Potential Appli- cant Orientation for prospec- tive charter school operators. The Orientation will take place on Thursday, Octo- ber 11, 2018. No registra- tion is required.
The orientation will be held at the Instructional Services Center (ISC) , 2920 North 40th Street in Tampa, from8:30a.m.to12:30p.m., in room 130.
This orientation is de- signed to advise prospective charter school operators of the application process aligned with Florida Statutes
and includes information on applying for a charter within Hillsborough County.
The deadline to submit an application to open a charter school in the 2020-2021 school year is February 1, 2019.
