Hours after he was con- firmed by the U. S. Senate, Brett Kavanaugh was sworn-in at the Supreme Court Saturday in a private cere- mony.
Kavanaugh was sworn-in by Chief Justice John Roberts and the man he will
replace, retired Justice An- thony Kennedy.
But the moment was mud- died by the noisy protestors who gathered outside the country’s highest court. A pro- tester even climbed a statue in front of Supreme Court prior to his swearing-in.
In a vote almost strictly along party lines, the U. S. Sen- ate vote was 50-48, with only one Democrat, Joe Manchin (W. Va.), joining Republicans in supporting Kavanaugh. His confirmation gives the court its first reliable conserva- tive majority in decades.
According to Buzz Feed News Jim Bunner, was in Rochester, Minnesota, Thurs- day when he was seen outside the Mayo Civic Center wearing his station’s jacket along with the red MAGA hat.
Mark Vancleave, a video journalist for Minnesota’s Star Tribune, took the photo that was circulated on social media.
On Friday, Bunner got the pink slip.
“He violated our policy so he’s no longer with us,” Noel Sederstrom, news director for KTTC, told BuzzFeed News. “We don’t allow our people to wear campaign clothing while on assignment.”
Sederstrom also noted that Bunner wasn’t fired for his views. Instead he was fired for expressing them while on the job.

Senator Cory Booker Says Kavanaugh Impeachment Shouldn't Be Off The Table
Melania Trump Raises
New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker said on Sunday the possibility of impeaching Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh shouldn’t be off the table if Democrats take one of the houses of Congress in next month’s midterm elec- tions. Kavanaugh was con- firmed on Saturday by a narrow vote following a con- tentious process that included multiple sexual assault allega- tions.
Other Democrats have raised the possibility of impeaching Kavanaugh over allegations that he committed perjury in his hearing at the Senate Judi- ciary Committee, on which Booker sits. News accounts have quoted acquaintances who contradict Kavanaugh’s testimony about his behavior as a young man, and evidence has surfaced calling into ques- tion some of his assertions about his time in the George W. Bush administration, but Kavanaugh insists he told the truth. Impeachment would require the Democrats to win a House majority and control that chamber’s judiciary com- mittee. The question would

NAIROBI, Kenya — A half a world away from the specta- cle of Washington, Melania Trump still managed to cre- ate one of her own during a Kenyan safari on Friday, rid- ing out into the grassland wearing a crisp white pith hel- met — a common symbol of European colonial rule.
It may not have been the most glaring faux pas the hyper-scrutinized Mrs. Trump has ever made. That title probably goes to the “I re- ally don’t care. Do U?” jacket she wore on the way to visit detained migrant children in Texas in June.
But to some — especially those who study African his- tory — her fashion choice in Kenya was still a big error on the global stage: the sight of a first lady wearing something so closely associated with the exploitation of Africans.
Hours before Washington woke up, critics were pointing out how Mrs. Trump — who
then go to trial in the Senate. “The reality is, right now, Re- publicans control the House and the Senate, and there’s no way to do even an investigation unless we flip one of the houses. So I think even before you start focusing on questions about his truthfulness before a Senate committee, you’ve got to focus on the urgency of the work over the next 30 days, and that’s where my focus is,”
Booker said.
Booker spoke to Yahoo in
Iowa, where he is making mul-
tiple campaign appearances in support of Democratic con- gressional candidates. He said he is working to help secure a Democratic majority. After the midterms, Booker said, the party can determine what its priorities should be.
“I think that after the dust settles on the night of the 6th, I think that’s where we start to evaluate ... what is the best thing for us to be focusing on in terms of what’s best for America and the American people,” Booker said.
