Man Killed In Parking Lot Of Club
Murder Suspect Killed In Shootout With Police
This is the scene at N. 15th Street and E. 28th Avenue, scene of deadly police shootout took place Sunday evening.

  On Sunday morning, shortly before 10 a.m., po- lice responded to the scene of a report of a man being down. When deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrived, they discovered the man was dead.
The man was discovered at 14007 N. 15th Street, lying on the sidewalk. Police have not released the cause of death, but are investigating it as a murder.
Detectives have not iden- tified the victim, pending positive identification and notification of his next of kin.

res, of Tampa. A warrant was issued for Torres and he was located on Sunday and charged with aggra- vated battery and second- degree murder.
The investigation into the death is continuing.
JERMAINE A. LONG
A 33-year-old man was fa- tally shot in the parking lot of a night club. The shooting took place early Monday.
According to police, Jer- maine A. Long was in the parking lot of The Sugar Room, 1239 4th Street S., in St. Petersburg, when the shooting took place. Long died as a re- sult of his injuries. Another man was also injured during the shooting.
Man Charged With Sexual Battery On Child

Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice arrested a 19-year-old man and charged him with sexual battery on a child.
According to police, the in- cident took place in February 2018. The victim, identified only as a 5-year-old female and Justin Bowen were left alone in the home for 10 to 15 minutes while her parents walked outside to get mail and speak with the neighbors.
During this time, Bowen is alleged to have had sexual contact with the child. The lit- tle girl later informed her par- ents of what had taken place, who notified police.
Bowen returned to Ten- nessee and declined to coop- erate with investigators. Detectives gathered evidence and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Bowen returned to Tampa and surrendered.
The Tampa Police Depart- ment is continuing its inves- tigation into a fatal shooting. The incident took place Sun- day evening in East Tampa.
According to police, shortly after 6 p. m., an offi- cer on routine patrol ob- served a white Chevy Impala. Police had previously re- ceived information that the vehicle was connected to a murder in the City of South Fulton, Georgia.
The officers attempted to make a traffic stop. However, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene, leading police on a chase. As police chased the vehicle, the driver reportedly fired shots at one of the offi- cers.
At that point, Steve Hegarty, spokesman for the Tampa Police Department said, the officers contacted Air Service to follow the car. A short time later, the officers observed the vehicle again at the intersection of E. Sligh Avenue and N. 15th Street.
The driver led the Tampa Police and members of the Florida Highway Patrol on the chase for several minutes. When the vehicle reached the intersection of E. 28th Avenue and N. 15th Street, the driver alleged jumped out of the ve- hicle and began firing again. He then attempted to carjack
an innocent bystander, but was unsuccessful. As police approached him, he reported fired shots at the officers, who returned fire.
After the shooting, both Tampa Police and the Florida Highway Patrol attempted life-saving first aid. However, the unidentified 41-year-old man died as a result of his in- juries.
Hegarty said police found two firearms beside his body. He further said the in- cident lasted less than 30 minutes.
In keeping with depart- ment policy, the five uniden- tified officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative duties, pend- ing the outcome of the inves- tigation. The investigation is continuing.
The Tampa Police Depart- ment has not released the man’s name pending positive identification and notifica- tion of his next of kin.
However, the City of South Fulton’s Police Chief Sheila Rogers identified the suspect as Timothy Wyatt. Chief Rogers said Wyatt was wanted in con- nection with the killing of his girlfriend and wounding her two juvenile sons in the City of South Fulton on Sunday morning.
   Police Search For Suspects Involved In Shooting
 Detectives are continu- ing their investigation into a shooting that took place early Monday. The incident took place in the 3700 block of West Columbus Drive, shortly after midnight.
According to Tampa Po- lice, officers were on routine patrol when they observed a gold Kia Sedona minivan chasing a small gray sedan. The officers observed the occupants of the Kia fire several shots at the sedan.
The officers attempted to stop the Kia, but the drivers fled and a pursuit was initi- ated. However, the driver of the Kia began driving reck- lessly and was able to elude
the officers, police said.
A short time later, offi- cers located the Kia aban- doned in the 2900 block of West Ivy Street. They also located two firearms that had been thrown from the
Kia.
Police do not believe
anyone was injured in the shooting and the gray sedan has not been located. The investigation is continuing.
