Military
Five Complete Basic Military Training In U. S. Air Force
Five military enlistees with Tampa ties recently graduated from basic mil- itary training in the U.S. Air Force. Airman Brady R. Cronan, Re- serve Airman 1st Class Saqueta L. James, Air- man 1st Class Nicol- lette T. Kinnebrew, Airman 1st Class Ash- ley E. Merritt and Air- man Tyrek D. Smith participated in their re- spective graduation cere- monies at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, in San Antonio, Texas.
The Airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military disci- pline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Each also earned four credits to- wards an Associate’s De- gree in Applied Science through the Community
College of the Air Force.
Airman Cronan
earned distinction as an honor graduate. A 2013 graduate of Olentangy Or- ange High School in Lewis Center, Ohio, Airman Cronan is the son of Robert M. Cronan, of Elmhurst, NY.
The airman is a 2013 graduate of Olentangy Or- ange High School, Lewis Center, Ohio.
Reserve Airman 1st Class James is a 2004 graduate of Alonso High School. She is the daugh- ter of Arthur James, of Tampa.
Airman 1st Class Kinnebrew is the daugh- ter of Tracy and Kane Kinnebrew of Valrico.
She graduated from Jefferson High School in 2009, and earned an Asso- ciate’s Degree from the University of South Florida, in 2015.
Airman 1st Class Merritt is the daughter of Patrick F. Merritt, of Adams Center, NY, and Robin M. Merritt, of Watertown, NY. She is the sister of Shannon M. Anderson, of Tampa, and Kylie R. Merritt, of Watertown, NY.
She graduated from Watertown High School, in Watertown, NY, in 2012. She continued her education at State Univer- sity of New York at Can- ton, Canton, NY, and was awarded a Bachelor’s De- gree in 2015.
Airman Smith is the son of Bobby and Julie Thomas, of Brunswick, GA., and Rachona Smith, of Tampa. He is also the grandson of Lucy Shaw, of Brunswick, GA. In 2016, he graduated from Glynn Academy High School, in Brunswick, GA.
