Detectives Continue Investigation Into Fatal Shooting
Deputies responded to reports of shots being fired in the 6000 block of N. 43rd Street. They discovered the body of a man in the backyard of one of the homes.
Man Charged With Sexual Battery

A 57-year-old Tampa man was arrested and charged with sexual battery. He was taken into custody last Friday.
Investigators stated he was reportedly observed during the commission of the crime by a witness in an undisclosed area of Hillsborough County. The crime took place shortly after 2 a.m.
Detectives made contact with Jesse James Mays and conducted an interview a few hours after the attack. Mays allegedly admitted to the crime. He was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
No additional information was released about the crime.

A Tampa woman was ar- rested after she reportedly stabbed a man with a piece of glass. The incident took place in the 7500 block of Lakeshore Drive.
According to Tampa Po- lice, Ms. Charlene Reynolds and a man she knows became engaged in an argument. As the argument progressed, Ms. Reynolds, 49, is said to have hit the vic- tim.
She is then alleged to have grabbed a broken glass bottle and cut the victim twice on the back.
The incident was ob- served by a witness who pos- itively identified her as the person who committed the crime.

The man, who is an adult, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. She was arrested and transported to the Hillsborough County Jail.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting. The inci- dent took place Friday evening.
According to police, shortly before 6 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1- 1 call pertaining to shots fired. When deputies arrived in the 6000 block of N. 43rd Street, they discovered a man in the backyard of one of the homes. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.
As the investigation into the shooting continued, the Tampa Police Department re- ceived a 9-1-1 call from an
unidentified man. The man told police he had been in- volved in the shooting. Tampa Police made contact with the man and notified the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice.
The investigation is con- tinuing and police have not released any additional infor- mation.

Man Wanted For
Forcibly Taking His
Child From Home
Police are continuing to search for a man who al- legedly forced his way into a home and took his daughter. The incident took place on Saturday.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, Tawfik Dimion Hart, 34, reportedly went to the home where his biological 8-year- old daughter lives near Jack- son Springs Road. Once inside, Hart is accused of grabbing the child and shov- ing another person out of the way while fleeing the home.
Detectives said Hart also had his 10-month-old son with him. They had informa- tion that he may be going to Tifton County, Georgia.
At some point over the weekend, both children were located and had not been in- jured. Police did not indicate where the children were

found. However Hart re- mains at large.
He is facing the charges of burglary with battery and in- terference with child custody.
