Tampa Alphas Preparing For 2017- 2018 Men Of Tomorrow Program
Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival, Entrepreneur's Collaborative Center Host Financial Workshop
The Tampa Alumni Chap- ter of Alpha Phi Alpha Frater- nity, Inc. (Tampa) is currently accepting applications for the 2017-2018 Men of Tomorrow Program. This program, which is the local chapter’s initiative of the Fraternity’s National “Go-to-High School, Go-to- College” Program, is geared to- ward helping students succeed in middle school, high school and college.
Workshops are held from August to June on topics for success, such as goal setting, time management, career choices, financial aid, study skills, interviewing skills, col- lege life, financial responsibil- ity and managing money, as well as standardized state and SAT/ACT test preparation.
Students also participate in college tours and social outings such as the Alpha Phi Alpha Southern Region Leadership Development Institute which was held in June at Savannah State University.
Past Men of Tomorrow par- ticipants have attended/ or are currently attending a variety of colleges and universities in- cluding, Notre Dame, the Naval Academy, Washington University, University of Florida, Florida A&M Univer- sity, Florida State University, Morehouse College, University of South Florida, the Univer- sity of Miami, University of Tampa, and Bethune-Cook- man University.

Since 2004, the Chapter has awarded over $54,000 in scholarships, grants, stipends and academic and other awards, in addition to facilitat- ing the various workshops, col- lege tours and other MOT activities. The Men of Tomor- row Program is funded through the GZL Educational Foundation, Inc. (a 501-c-3 or- ganization) with contributions
from generous individuals, or- ganizations, and companies, as well as from events such as an annual Golf Tournament scheduled for November 4, 2017 at the Eagles Golf Club in Odessa.

The Tampa Bay Black Her- itage Festival and the Entre- preneur's Collaborative Center will hold a free workshop for business owners and provide professional knowledge to participants on: Protect Your Business’ Greatest Asset, Your Business Image. The workshop will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017, from 10 A. M. to 12:30 P. M., at the Entrepreneur Col- laborative Center (ECC), 2101 East Palm Avenue (Ybor City), Tampa, 33605. The doors will open at 9:30 A. M. Free park- ing is across the street in the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office parking lot.
Ebone Cruz, media per- sonality, and founder of Hat- Attitude Inc., will present at the workshop. Hat-Attitude is a non-profit organization that encourages women of all ages and stages in life to continue to grow!

She has been seen in The East Tampa Business and Civic Association “Business Technology Expo,” a regular featured contributor to The Black Heritage Festival “Building A Better Business” Social Media series, “Get Social,” presenter for the FSBDC at Hillsborough County & The Entrepreneur Collaborative Center of Hills- borough County, and the 2016 Friends of the Library Tampa- Hillsborough County, social media keynote speaker.
Ms. Cruz believes that the TBBHF businesses seminars offered to small business own- ers is an excellent tool for en- trepreneurs to acquire resources, tools, and a net- work of people that can aid in Start-up success!
