Women’s Council Of Bay Area Realtists To Host Scholarship Breakfast
West Tampa Alliance Plans Juneteenth Celebration
The West Tampa Alliance is planning for the celebra- tion of Juneteenth. This will be a 3-day celebration, June 16th-18th.
June 16th, will be set aside for a Community Awards Program, to be announced. A Street Festival is planned for June 17th, from noon till 7 p. m, to extend from Oregon to Armenia Avenues.
There will be a Gospel Ex- plosion to be held on the June 18th at Beulah Baptist Church that will close out the celebration.
The community is invited to attend these meetings for early planning. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 30th,

be Mrs. Aidza Antonio- Thomas, the Executive Di- rector and co-founder of Solita’s House, Inc., an emerging Community Devel- opment Financial Institution

and HUD Housing agency. Her career spans over 17 years in social services.
She graduated from the University of South Florida and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She is also a recipient of the George Edge- comb Bar Association, Fran- cisco Rodriguez Award for her outstanding contribu- tions to improving the status of African-Americans in her community.
In addition to being named the Community Serv- ice Leader of 2014 by the Bay Area Association of Realtists, Inc and named Network of Executive Women 2015 Ex- ceptional Woman of the Year, in 2016 she was nomi- nated for the Tampa Bay Business Journal Business Woman of the Year.
Her goal in working with the community is to increase homeownership opportuni- ties, provide affordable ac- cess to credit and empowering youths through money management pro- grams.
The Women’s Council of Bay Area Association of Re- altists, Inc. continues to pro- vide College scholarships, (for adults and teens), First- time Home-buyers' educa- tion classes, and down pay- ment assistance to community residents.

UPDATE: Viola Davis Lecture Moved To
USF Sun Dome
In order to accommodate more USF students and members of the Tampa Bay community, the Viola Davis lecture on Tuesday, April 4 has been moved to the USF Sun Dome.
The event was originally scheduled for the Marshall Student Center. Doors will now open at 7 p. m., with the lecture beginning at 8 p. m.
Davis will speak as part of the student-run University Lecture Series (ULS).
Davis’ performances have earned numerous awards, including a 2017 Academy Award for her sup- porting role in Fences. The award made her the first black actor/actress to win an Oscar, Tony and Emmy for acting.
The versatile actress has received Oscar nominations for her roles in The Help
VIOLA DAVIS
(2011) and Doubt (2008). She currently stars in the ABC tel- evision series How to Get Away with Murder.
As a speaker, Davis draws from her professional and private life, speaking about overcoming poverty as a child, becoming a stronger woman by working through preconceived notions, and elevating the voices of women of color through art.
