9-Time Convicted
Man Who Attacked Store Clerk Last Year Charged
Felon Arrested On
New Charges
Detectives have arrested a 22-year-old man and charged him with aggravated battery and petit theft. The incident took place in No- vember 2019.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Joshua Pena-Cedillo en- tered the Circle A Food Store, in Clearwater. The suspect was wearing a large hooded winter coat with a gray face cover. He selected several food items and concealed them in his coat.
The victim attempted to stop Pena-Cedillo from leaving the store and a strug- gle ensued, exposing Pena- Cedillo’s face.
Detectives say Pena-
threatening injury to his head.
According to investiga- tors, the victim later recog- nized Pena-Cedillo and notified the Sheriff’s Office. Using various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify Pena- Cedillo as the battery sus- pect.
Detectives charged Pena-Cedillo with aggra- vated battery and petit theft. However, Pena-Cedillo was already in-custody at the Pinellas County Jail. He was arrested on April 23, 2020 by the Clearwater Police Department for Ani- mal Cruelty. The investiga- tion continues.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man who has been convicted of nine felony charges again. He was taken into custody after deputies conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle.
Deputies stopped Keith Spivey, 41, for a traffic viola- tion and reportedly found probable cause to search his vehicle. The search revealed a loaded semi-automatic firearm, along with several bags of cocaine and crack co- caine. The firearm was re- ported stolen from Hillsborough County in 2019.
Spivey was charged with possession of cocaine with in- tent to sell or deliver; posses-

sion of cocaine; not having a valid driver’s license; being a felon in possession of a firearm; and carrying a con- cealed firearm.
Spivey was transported to the Orient Road Jail.

Cedillo produced a folding pocket knife and struck the victim in the head while the knife was closed. He then fled the scene.
