First Shuffleboard Tournament Of Year Held

On Friday, January 31st, members of the local Shuffle- board Teams came together for the first tournament of the New Year. The matches took place at the Ragan Park Com- munity Center.
The Shuffleboard Teams consists of senior citizens from throughout Hillsbor- ough County, participates in a championship tournament each month. The first and sec- ond place winners are awarded gift cards. T h e gift cards are sponsored by Michael Miller, of Integrity Health.
After the points were counted, Ms. Connie Bowen and Ms. Quincy Jefferson walked away as the winners of the first games of the year. The second place

board gives seniors an oppor- tunity to stay active and so- cialize with their peers. He invites any seniors who wish to learn the game to contact him.
He teaches Shuffleboard on Mondays and Fridays from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Ragan Park Community Center, 1200 E. Lake Avenue. He also teaches the game at Cyrus Greene Community Center on Thursday, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., and he holds train- ing classes at Williams Park and Fair Oaks Community Centers.
On Tuesdays from 11 a.m. until 12 noon, Scott teaches the game at the Lee Davis Neighborhood Service Center.
