Ava DuVernay Inks $100M, Multi-Year Multi-Genre Deal With Warner Bros. TV
Jay Z And Kanye West Are Tweeting At Each Other Over That ‘Championships’ Verse
Emmy-winning and Oscar- nominated director Ava Du- Vernay has signed an 8-figure development deal with Warner Bros. Television Group.
The deal is said to be multi- year, multi-genre and worth about $100 million, and the filmmaker added on Twit- ter: “Warner Bros is a terrific partner on matters of visibility + belonging for all kinds + cul- tures of people, which is our mission at Forward Move- ment. Couldn’t be happier to call Warner Bros TV my pro- duction home.” Thanks for the
love and light, folks. Really ap- preciated.”
“I’ve had nothing but beau- tiful experiences working with Peter Roth, Susan Rovner and Brett Paul,” said Du- Vernay. “They love and sup- port artists in wonderful and nourishing ways... Warner Bros. is a terrific partner about matters of visibility and be- longing for all kinds and cul- tures of people, which is our mission at Forward Move- ment. I couldn’t be happier to call Warner Bros. TV my pro- duction home.”
Jay-Z broke his year-long Twitter silence to explain what his verse meant on Meek Mill’s song “What’s Free.”
Regarding the track, Hov said that he wasn’t taking shots against Kanye West, rather he meant that he does- n’t want to be “pit” against his “brothers.”
“The line clearly meant don’t pit me against my brothers no matter what our differences are (red hat) now go pick up Meek album.
Drake and Meek on there together,” he tweeted.
The bars in question?: “No red hat, don't Michael and Prince me and Ye / They separate you when you got Michael and Prince's DNA, uh / I ain't one of these house n****s you bought / My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours / My spou- (C'mon man) / My route better of course.”
Apparently, Kanye ac- cepted Hov’s apology and replied on Twitter.

Drake Settles Rape Allegation Lawsuit Against Instagram Model
Tekashi 6ix9ine Reportedly ‘G-Checked’
Drake and Layla Lace, the woman who accused the Toronto rapper of rape appear to have settled their ongoing legal battle.
The drama started last year when Layla claimed during a SiriusXM interview that she was raped after having a one- night stand with Drake, re- ports TMZ. Those claims prompted the “God’s Plan” rapper to sue for civil extor- tion, emotional distress, defamation, and fraud. The In- stagram model also claimed she was pregnant with Drake’s baby.
“I know who I sleep with un-
SiriusXM’s Shade54 station in 2017. “It’s one hundred per cent for sure Drake’s child, he knows it.”
The two reportedly met backstage during the Manches- ter stop of Drake’s Boy Meets World tour last February.
The 32-year-old says Layla’s lawyer demanded cash or else they’d go public with the false claims of sexual assault, according to legal doc- uments obtained by TMZ.
Moving forward, Layla agrees not to make any further “statements alleging or insinu- ating that Drake assaulted her.”

Tekashi 6ix9ine just sur- passed the two-week mark be- hind bars. But according to TMZ, his time in jail has been riddled with tension. His affiliation with the Nine Trey Bloods gang has made him an easy target. Several Crips have reportedly “G-Checked” (or “gangsta checked”) 6ix9ine as he awaits his next hearing.
Law enforcement sources said one particular incident occurred on November 19, shortly after he was arrested on racketeering charges. Dur- ing intake, an alleged Crip gang member confronted 6ix9ine to establish who was in charge. He allegedly told the controversial rapper he would’ve been attacked if au- thorities hadn’t intervened.
One of 6ix9ine’s attor- neys, Lance Lazzaro, con- firmed the 22-year-old “was being threatened in jail. How-

ever, he was not scared nor did he request being removed. The Bureau of Prisons, acting upon these threats, removed him to a different facility to eliminate the threat.”
6ix9ine’s trial has been set for September 4, 2019 where he faces up to life in prison.
