years.
The sentencing came on the
13-year anniversary of Simp- son being acquitted for the- murderofhiswife,Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.
Despite being granted pa- role on a handful of the charges that put him behind bars, Simpson has failed at attempts to appeal his verdict.
According to the SI story, Nevada’s potential parolees are measured by a point sys- tem that includes age, employ- ment history prior to being arrested, and prior probation or parole revocations.
Depending on how the pa- role hearing goes, Simpson may be freed by this fall. If things don’t work in his favor, he’ll remain locked up until 2022.

he just wants an apology.
"It's not about being at the Garden," Oakley told ESPN's Jeff Goodman. "It's about the fans. I want them to apologize to the fans. I told the commis- sioner I want them to apologize to the fans."
Later on The Dan Le Batard Show on ESPN, Oakley was asked whether he would go back to Madison Square Gar- den as Dolan's guest.
"Right now, no," he said. "I told him yesterday."
On Monday, NBA commis- sioner Adam Silver said he and Michael Jordan spoke with Oakley and Knicks owner James Dolan to help end the public dispute between Oakley and Dolan.

O.J. SIMPSON
O.J. Simpson could be re- leased from prison later this year. The 69-year-old former NFL player is likely to go up for parole in July, reports Sports Illustrated.
For nearly a decade, Simp- son has been locked up at the Loveland Correctional Center in Lovelock, Nevada.
In 2008, a judge sentenced Simpson to 33 years on kid- napping and robbery charges, with parole eligibly after nine
Floyd Mayweather wrote in an Instagram post on Tues- day that he has made no deal to fight UFC star Conor Mc- Gregor, or any other fighter, reiterating that he is happily retired.
The post was published shortly after UFC president Dana White texted ESPN's Brett Okamoto: "No deal is even close to being done."
Earlier Tuesday, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith said he spoke with Mayweather on Saturday while both were at- tending the Warriors-Thunder
NBA game in Oklahoma City. Smith said Mayweather told him that "we're getting very, very close" to making a deal for the superfight.
Sources told Okamoto earlier Tuesday that McGre- gor had arrived in Las Vegas on Monday evening, prior to a meeting with the Nevada State Athletic Commission regard- ing discipline for the MMA fighter stemming from his ac- tions at a UFC news confer- ence last summer.
Mayweather lives and trains in the city.

Tiger Woods, Advised To Limit All Activities Due To Back Spasms, Cancels News Conference
The back spasms that caused Tiger Woods to with- draw from a tournament in Dubai on Feb. 3 remain per- sistent enough that the 14- time major champion is skipping a scheduled news conference at the Genesis Open on Wednesday for "pre- cautionary'' reasons, said his agent, Mark Steinberg.
The tournament announced late Tuesday that Woods would not attend the news conference at Riviera Country Club because he has been "ad- vised by doctors to limit all ac- tivities.''
On Friday, Woods, 41, withdrew from the tourna-

ment, which is in its first year of sponsorship by Hyundai and is being run by the Tiger Woods Foundation. Woods traveled to California over the weekend, Steinberg said, in an effort to take part in foun- dation and tournament activi- ties.
Giants Release WR Victor Cruz, RB Rashad Jennings
The New York Giants re- leased wide receiver Victor Cruz and running back Rashad Jennings on Mon- day, creating significant salary-cap space by parting ways with two veteran mem- bers of their offense.
Cruz, an undrafted free agent from nearby Paterson, New Jersey, described his seven-year stint with the Gi- ants as an "amazing journey."
"I pretty much grew up in front of the eyes of this entire organization," Cruz said as part of a statement released by the team. "The Giants fan base, the community, my hometown, my family. I grew up there. It's very much a fam- ily atmosphere and it's very much like leaving your family. That's what it feels like. I did

some great things there." Cruz, 30, is 21⁄2 years re- moved from major knee sur- gery and would have counted for $9.4 million against the Gi- ants' salary cap in 2017. New York frees up $7.5 million in
cap space with his release. Jennings would have counted $3,062,500 against the cap in 2017. Releasing him frees up $2.5 million in cap
space.
