16-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed As Dozens Filmed Him Bleeding To Death
D. C.’s Last Black Owned
A fight over a girl involv- ing at least 50 teenagers left a 16-year-old dead after he al- legedly was stabbed in the chest by an 18-year-old as many teens, rather than help the stabbing victim, filmed his demise.
An anonymous witness to the fight who spoke to New York ABC station WABC said Khaseen Morris was am- bushed by the group.
"There was a bunch of people sitting by the Chinese restaurant ... about 15 kids, and then, all of a sudden, while I was on the phone speaking, eight -- seven or eight kids came from the north and targeted certain people that I believe they were looking for," the witness said.
Tyler Flach, 18, of Lido Beach, was arrested late Wednesday and charged with murder, according to WABC. He pleaded not guilty at an arraignment on Thursday af- ternoon and was ordered held without bail.

Perhaps the most shock- ing aspect of Morris' death is the fact that people filmed him dying rather than trying to help him.

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham
New Mexico has announced a plan to make public college and university free for all resi- dents in the state, a proposal considered one of the most am- bitious attempts to make higher education more accessi-

"It means better enroll- ment. It means better student success. In the long run, it means economic growth, im- proved outcomes for New Mex- ico workers and thinkers and parents," Lujan Grisham said. "It means a better trained and better compensated work- force."

"There's got to be about 50, 60, 70 kids here," Detec- tive Lt. Stephen Fitz- patrick, commander of the Nassau County Police Homi- cide Division, told members of the media at a press con- ference on Tuesday morning. "We have a handful of kids that have come forward who have identified people in- volved in this."

Washington, D.C. has lost its only black-owned funeral parlor to gentrification, after 80 years in the district.
The Hall Brothers Funeral Home only handled four fu- nerals last year, a low caused by locals being driven out by gentrification, per NBC News.
The parlor’s owner, 77- year-old Richard Ables, says of the neighborhood: “If we saw a white person, we’d ask, ‘What are you doing here?’ Now it’s the opposite.”
Ables sold his dying busi- ness last week, nearly 80 years after it was founded by his uncles.

A Georgia homeowner has shot and killed three young men wearing masks, according to local police.
Rockdale County sheriff's deputy Lee Thomas said the Conyers homeowner shot the men, who arrived at the residence with their faces covered, on Monday morning just before 4am.
After the shooting, Thomas called 911. When responding officers arrived to the White Oak Court home, they found the three men suf- fering from gunshot wounds.
Officers immediately began administering first aid, but one man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other two men were rushed to a local hospital where they died of their in- juries.
Deputy Thomas said au- thorities were still awaiting information from the county coroner on the identities and ages of the victims.
Police said two weapons
were found at the scene and they are working to deter- mine who the guns belonged to.
The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office said the inves- tigation is still in the prelimi- nary stages and the homeowner is currently being questioned about the details of the shooting.

Deputies are expected to release more details during a press conference Monday evening.
A San Diego woman is $340 million richer after cashing in her winning Mega Millions ticket she purchased at a deli near Sorrento Valley.
Laarni Bibal picked up a Quick Pick ticket at the Sor- rento Deli Mart at 10920 Roselle Street on June 7. The next day, she heard a winning ticket had been purchased at her favorite store.
"My heart started beating really fast," Bibal told the California State Lottery.
Sure enough, the winning numbers -- 27, 68, 17, 19, 40 and the Mega number 2 -- matched the numbers on her ticket.
Lottery officials said Bibal's lucky ticket was worth a cool $522 million. She chose the cash option which netted her $340 mil- lion before federal taxes are applied.
Bibal took some time be- fore claiming her winnings, hiding the winning ticket in a secret spot while she waited to claim her prize, she told lottery officials.
When asked where that secret place was, Bibal said, "I can't tell you. The secret hiding place is still a secret."
But she now plans to pay off some debt and buy a home with her new fortune.
