Men Of Vision Hosts 12th Annual Academic Awards Ceremony
Current members and alumni of Men of Vision, Inc., Service Organization.

Recently, Men of Vision, Inc., held their 12th Annual Academic Awards Ceremony. The event took place at TPepin Hospitality Center.
During the ceremony, the or- ganization recognized 44 gradu- ating seniors for their academics and service in the community. The organization also recog- nized several alumni who have graduated from college this year.
Ross Anderson, educator and founder of the organization said, “We were able to give more than $20,000 in scholar- ships, thanks to community donors and sponsors. Alumni members who have gone on to graduate from Hillsborough Community College, Tallahassee Community College, Miami Dade, FAMU, and Valencia Col- lege were in attendance,” he said.
Wildens Cajuste, Men of Vision Alumni and Florida A & M University 2018 graduate, de- livered the keynote address. His message was taken from “Take a Stand and Rising Up.”
Cajuste said, “If you can’t support your own child, then at least support the group or per- son that is.”
“He also urged parents to sup- port their child, not only with sports and entertainment, but also in academics,” Anderson said.
Members of the community considered Leaders and Game Changers were honored as well. Anderson said those chosen lead by example when it comes to being not only a family man, but a man who leads with in- tegrity and faith.”
Those honored this year were: recently retired Tampa Fire Chief Thomas Forward, former Tampa Police Chief Eric Ward, Dr. Samuel Wright, Sr., Henry “Shake” Wash- ington, Sr., James Cole, and Jeff Eakins, Hillsborough County School District Superin- tendent.
The Hillsborough Education Foundation presented a 2-year prepaid scholarship to Josiah Williams, and Brian Barr, both students at Woodmont Charter School.

Kristopher Henson, a senior at Middleton High School, was presented the Middleton Senior High School Alumni Scholarship by the Honorable Mrs. Doretha Edgecomb, former Hillsborough County School District board member.
Eric Vincent, who is a member of an Alumni of the Class of 2016, was the winner of the Men of Vision, Inc., Board Scholar- ship. He is shown with Men of Vision, Inc. Board Chair Michael Llewellyn.

the Club Of The Year Banner and Game Time Party. This award is given to the chapter that has made an impact at their school, in the district, or in the community.
