Churches Observe Missionary Sunday
Whenever there’s a 5th Sunday in the month, several denominations observe “Missionary Sunday.” The “Missionaries,” or in some cases “Mothers,” of the church conduct the service. (Photographs by Julia Jackson)
Rev. Byron Pressley, Sr. is the pastor of St. Paul AME Church.
Dr. Alma Hires, shown, was the Mistress of Ceremonies at St. Paul. Ms. Dorothy McDaniels was the Pro- gram Chairlady.
Minister Quincenia Bell of “Save The Bell, Inc.,” and retired Hillsborough County School District official, was the guest speaker at Mt. Moriah Primitive Bap- tist Church for their Missionary Sunday.
At St. Paul AME Church, Ms. Hanna Vicks of St. John Progressive was the speaker.
Rev. Gregory Gay, Pas- tor of Mt. Olive AME Church, enjoyed the serv- ice.
Barbara Rutledge was among the program par- ticipants at Mt. Olive.
Ms. Sharon Thomp- son, a member of Mt. Mo- riah, was in attendance.
