Celebrating Dr. King’s Weekend
Last weekend two of Tampa’s young professionals had an opportunity to spend some time together, catch- ing up on the latest happenings.
Renowned recording artist, Saxophonist Bernard (BK) Jackson, who was also a member with Prince’s band, performed at Tampa’s Black Heritage Festival. He and Brittany Elice Saffold are Blake High, Class of 2009 grads, FAMU Rattler grads, AKA/Alpha sister and brother, and members of 34th St. Church of God.
Pastor Of Allen Temple AME Church Inducted Into Theological Hall Of Fame
Allen Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church of Tampa, FL, has an- nounced that their Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Glenn B. Dames, Jr., was inducted into the Bishop Henry Mc- Neal Turner Alumni Hall of Fame of Turner Theological Seminary at ITC in Atlanta on Monday, February 3, 2020.
Turner Alumni Hall of Fame inductees are selected based upon their outstand- ing leadership abilities, service to God and their communities.
Humility, compassion and integrity best describe the ministry of Pastor Dames and it is no surprise that he has been selected to receive such a great honor.

Dr. Dames’ ministry extends beyond the four walls of the church and into the community at-large. Known affectionately as the “Community’s Pastor,” Pas- tor Dames is active and
visible in local schools, hos- pitals, jails, homes, and all facets of city and county government.
Highlighting his commit- ment to social advocacy, his fight against injustice and his profound love for educa- tion, he has been featured in USA Today, Florida Today, Democracy Now, Space Coast Living Magazine, and many other publications.
Pastor Dames was also one of the recipients of the 2015 LEAD Brevard’s “4 under 40” awards, the Florida Institute of Technol- ogy (F. I. T.) Rev. Harvey L. Riley, Bridge Builders award, and the Florida Edu- cation Association (FEA) Martin Luther King, Jr. award for Civil Rights.
When asked about his re- cent addition to the Bishop Henry McNeal Turner Alumnae Hall of Fame, Dr. Dames explained, “I am honored to be a Hall of Fame inductee to the Turner Theological Seminary. I’m grateful that God is using me to do His work. I am blessed to have such a sup- portive group of family, friends, and colleagues who love me unconditionally. I am especially blessed to have such a strong and lov- ing church family in Allen Temple AME. The Work is All Divine!”

Greenridge and Delaney Creek Association monthly meet- ing will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at 7 p. m. The meeting is held the first Tuesday of each month at the Winston Park Boys and Girls Club of Tampa Bay, 7605 Destin Drive, Tampa, Florida 33619. All concerned residents are invited to attend we need your support. Our Mission is, "We, the resi- dents of Greenridge and Delaney Creek, envision a community where people have a strong sense of security and everyone takes pride in where they live."
