  DEACONESS ETHEL ELIZABETH COLE
A Homegoing Celebration for Deaconess Ethel Elizabeth Cole of Tampa, Florida, who passed on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, will be held on Satur- day, May 1st, 2 p. m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Larry Roundtree, II, Pas- tor of New Mt. Zion Mission- ary Baptist Church, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memo- rial Park Cemetery.
Deaconess Ethel Elizabeth Cole was born July 31, 1928 in Albany, Georgia to the late Jake and Ruth Malone. She was a member of New Mt. Zion M. B. Church. She en- joyed flower gardening and crossword puzzling.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Deacon Samuel Cole; sons, Samuel, Jr. and David Cole; daughter, Renee Cole.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories with: her loving sons, Brenford Cole, Carl Cole and Jeffrey Cole; grandchildren, Cedrick Cole, Vontrece Cole, Shaquita Brown, Sheri Cole, Jessica Cole, Bobby Cole, Terry Cole, Demontra Cole, Dominque Stinson, Jasmine Cole, Jackie Jones, Anthony Cole, David Cole, Moke Jones, DayDay Cole, Cara Reed and Cireeicka Stinson; 15 great grandchil- dren; brothers, William Mal- one (Rose), Jake Malone (Harriett) and Melvin Terrell; sisters, Dr. Anita Williams- Faoye, Ossie Malone and Rose Malone; nieces, Kimberly Cobb, Natalie Thomas, Carol Malone, Zenora Sanders, La- Toya Grace, Veronica Cliatt and Shirtey Cole; nephews, Thomas Malone, Carlton Mal- one, Perotta Malone and Nathaniel Cobb; goddaugh- ters, Sharon Robinson and Sharon Moore; brother-in- law, Nathaniel Cobb; sisters- in-law, Vera Terrell and Louise Malone; special friends, Essie Merritt and Toynetta Williams.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 30th from 4 to 8 p. m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.

  MR. DORNELL ROBERT SIMMONS
A Homegoing Service for Mr. Dornell Robert Simmons, 68, of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on April 17, 2021, will be held Saturday, May 1st 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Rev. Samuel E. Clark Offi- ciating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Mr. Dornell Robert Sim- mons, Sr., was born October 28, 1952, in Tampa, Florida, to the late Mr. Cornell R. Simmons and Mrs. Lucretia Teart. Darnell was a member of New Bethel Pro- gressive Missionary Baptist Church.
 He attended the Hillsbor- ough County Public School Sys- tem and graduated from Middleton High School in Tampa, Florida. Darnell went on to faithfully serve as an active- duty member in the United States Army, receiving an Hon- orable discharge after a success- ful tour of duty.
Dornell returned to Tampa from the U. S. Army, beginning his new career by graduating from United Electronic Insti- tute (UEI) as an Electronic Technician. He took his com- bined skills from the U. S. Army and UEI to Honeywell Electronics and Huntington Warehouse as a Forklift Oper- ator, retiring from both com- panies.
If you knew him, you are aware he was an outdoors, DIY type of guy. He enjoyed cook- ing, gardening, fishing, listen- ing to music, watching westerns, and an animal lover.
He was preceded in death by: his beloved wife, Barbara Hag- gins; parents, Cornell R. Sim- mons and Lucretia Teart; stepparent, Edward Teart; sis- ter, Mary "Sunshine" Larry; brother, Joseph Simmons.
Dornell is survived by: his dear children, Carl E. Presley, Dornell R. Simmons, Jr., Sher- ica R. D. Simmons, Joseph N. Simmons, and Jerimiah J. Sim- mons; grandchildren, Carl E. Presley, Jr., Vada J. Woody, Jr., Matthew D. Baker, Lexes M. Baker; great-grandson, Zavin King Larry, by his significant other, Patricia Smith; sisters, Luesther Simmons and Annette Burroughs; brothers, Athel Sim- mons and Anthony (Angela) Teart; close friend, Edward Mauna; and numerous other nephews, nieces, and relatives.

 MR. CHRISTOPHER CHARLES JACKSON
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Christopher Charles Jackson of Tampa, Florida, who passed on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, will be held on Satur- day, May 1st, 1 p. m. at Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E. Chelsea Street, Elder Gregory Jackson, eulogist, officiating. The interment will follow.
Mr. Christopher Charles Jackson was born to Louis Jackson and Peggy Spencer- Jackson, on September 1, 1975, in Ocala, Florida. He at- tended school in the Marion County Public School System and Hillsborough County Pub- lic School System, graduating from C. Leon King High School, Class of 1993. Christo- pher joined the United States Army just after his High School graduation, and he served for 5 years.
During his time as a UH-60 Helicopter Crew Chief, he dis- covered a passion for operat- ing vehicles of all kinds. Upon leaving the Army, Chris was drawn to many opportunities. However, it was his becoming a CDL Truck Driver that paved the way for him to eventually become an Owner Operator; a career, he enjoyed for many years.
One of his other passions was his love for family. He met and married his devoted wife, Angela Jackson, of 21 years, shortly after his leaving the military. He was a loving fa- ther to both Arianna and Marissa, he was always there to give support, share his ad- vice or just to offer a warm smile and hug to just let them know how much they were loved. Chris lit up the most when speaking of his two beautiful grandbabies; “Papa’s Girl” Lux Toler and “Papa’s Lil Man,” Lamarcus Moore, Jr. In addition to his passion for family, was his passion for mo- torcycles.
“Jack Nasty” served as a devoted friend, brother and member of the Ruff Ryders of Tampa Bay, Lifestyle Chapter, for over 18 years. His hobbies were riding motorcycles and watching sports, especially his favorite team, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Christopher was preceded in death by: his father, Louis Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories with: An- gela Jackson, a devoted wife of 21 years; daughters, Arianna Hornsby, fiancé Michael and
 Marissa Hornsby, fiancé Lamarcus; granddaughter, Lux Toler; grandson, Lamar- cus Moore, Jr., all of Tampa, Florida; mother, Peggy Spencer-Jackson of Ocala; brother, Louis A. Jackson, wife Ruby of Brandon; mother- in-law; Carmen King of Tampa; niece, Brittany Grif- fin and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 30th from 4 to 8 p. m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside on Saturday for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.

 MISS VIVIAN RUTH JOHNSON
The Celebration of Life for Miss Vivian Ruth Johnson, who passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021, will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, 1 p. m. at Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E. Chelsea Street, Rev. RJ Stevenson, officiating. The in- terment will follow.
Vivian was born on Octo- ber 6, 1934, in Marion, South Carolina to Minnie Johnson and Virgil Johnson, Sr. She was the youngest of their 3 children. In 1940 Minnie and her 3 children moved to Tampa, Florida to assist their uncle, Attorney Z. D. Green whose health had begun to fail. Vivian was known to her friends as “VIP,” her students as “Miss Johnson,” but to everyone else she was “GRANNY.” Vivian was edu- cated in Hillsborough County. She attended St. Peter Clever Catholic School and Don Thompson, graduating with the Class of 1952. She contin- ued her education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and received her BA Degree in Elementary Edu- cation in 1956. Vivian retired from the Hillsborough County School System in June 2000. During her 43-year tenure, she taught at the following schools: Harlem Academy (1957 - 1959), Christiana Meacham Elementary (1959 - 1969), Robert E. Lee Elemen- tary (1969 - 1971), and Robles Elementary (1971 – 2000). In addition to 43 regular aca- demic school years she taught 42 summer program years (1957–1999). Vivian was a member of Historic St. Paul AME Church in downtown Tampa, and in later years, New St. Paul AME Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for the Begin-
 ners and Primary classes and member of the Kennon’s Beautification Committee. Vi- vian’s love and passion re- mained with children, she taught, mentored and cared for thousands of children as she served so many as their 1st grade teacher.
Vivian was preceded in death by: her father, Virgil Johnson, Sr.; mother, Minnie Johnson Quick; stepfather, Lister Quick; her sisters, Eve- lyn B. Johnson and Ann Jack- son; her niece, Kathy Harris and Johnson Reeves; her uncle, Attorney Zechariah D. Green.
Vivian is survived by: her daughter, Joselyn Walker Saf- fore; 4 grandchildren, Don- netta C. Walker, Devin C. Walker, Donald J. Walker, Jr. (Chrisonna Chester) and Jose- lyne’ A. Saffore; 14 great grandchildren, Jor’Dayn I. Walker Larry, JayDunn I. Walker Larry, Bianca D. Walker, La’Deviya M. J. Gilbert, Ja’Daya A. Walker Saffore, Donald J. Walker, III, Don’tre J. Walker, Donnel J. Walker, Ja’Zaria A. Saffore, Taliyah M. M. Walker, Donnay J. Walker, Muzik R. T. Gilbert, Jor’Jaye I. Walker Larry and Joselyn A. V; nieces, Barbara Harris Jones and Aristea Johnson Williams (Carl); nephews, Charles Larry, II, and Phillip Davis; adopted children, Toni Warner, Latoya Gilbert, David C. Williams (Pauline) and Oscar J. Larry; adopted grandchildren; Lakayla Morris, Michaela Bevel and Shontae White; adopted great grandchildren, Antonio Larry, Taleya Brown, Theonate Walton, Herbert L. Davis, III and Sylvester Samuels, Jr.; adopted god- child, Ollie Keeton Burgin.
