Sandbags Available For City Of Tampa Residents
The City of Tampa will have sandbags for residents until further notice. The sand- bags will be available at three locations: Bobby Hicks Pool, 4201 W. Mango Avenue; the Barksdale Active Adult Center @ MacFarlane Park, 1801 N. Lincoln Avenue; and Jackson Heights Community Center, 3310 E. Lake Avenue.
The sandbags can be picked up between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Residents receiving sand- bags must show identification verifying residence within the city limits. A valid driver’s li- cense, utility bill, or electric bill will serve as appropriate identification. There is a 10 (ten) bag limit.
Additionally, the City is re- questing that residents with a storm drain on their property check to ensure that the drain is clear of all debris including leaves and trash.
Residents should report flooding issues by calling (813) 274-3101.
Safety Precautions
During heavy rainfall or se- vere weather event, residents are encouraged to heed traffic advisories, obey traffic signs, detours, and exercise caution when driving in and around standing water.
Residents should stay tuned to local television and radio stations for more infor- mation as severe weather ap- proaches.
