DEACONESS ‘MOTHER’ LOUISE R. GRANT ‘APPLE’
Funeral Services for Dea- coness “Mother” Louise R. Grant (“Apple”), will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021, 11 a. m., New Progress Missionary Baptist Church, 3307 E. Shad- owlawn Ave., Tampa, FL 33610. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa, FL 33610.
The viewing will be Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, 5-8 p. m. at New Progress MB Church.
Deaconess Mother Louise R. Grant was born February 14, 1938, in Whigham, GA to the late Deacon Charles Robinson and Julia Mae Harrell-Robinson. She was educated in Grady County, GA public schools. Mother Grant accepted the Lord at a young age and her greatest pleasure in life was serving her God.
In 1954, Mother Grant moved to Miami, FL, where she resided until 1962 when she re- located to Tampa, FL, where she was a resident for 59 years. She was a devoted member of North- side M. B. Church until the Lord led her to New Progress M. B. Church. Deaconess Grant was a devoted President of the #1 Choir for over 33 years, member of the #4 Usher Board, member of the Breakfast Club, devoted member of Ward #4, member of the Williams Chorus, President of Mass Choir and many other auxiliaries around the church.
Deaconess Grant was a beloved wife to Edward James Grant for 53 years, a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. She loved spending time with family, watching her favorite football teams, Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Bucca- neers, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, and Alabama Crimson Tide.
In her spare time, when not
chatting with her best friend/sis- ter, Mary Flowers, she faithfully watched her soap operas: The Young & Restless, The Bold & The Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, and General Hospital.
Mother Grant was skillful and a knowledgeable woman. She was employed with Univer- sity Community Hospital (Ad- vent Health) for 28 years until she retired in 2003. Mother Grant was a skilled baker who loved baking her famous pound cake and sweet potato pies.
On November 7, 2021, God dispatched an angel and called his child home from this world of labor to his heavenly reward.
Mother Grant was preceded in death by: her parents, Deacon Charles Robinson and Julia Mae Harrell-Robinson; beloved hus- band, Edward James Grant; sis- ter, Doris Everett; brothers, Alonzo Robinson and Willie Robinson; her beloved son, Jim- mie L. Norwood, Sr.; and first husband, Pringle Norwood.
She leaves to cherish her memories: 2 sons, David J. Nor- wood, Sr., (Lexxus Kelley-Nor- wood) and Michael L. Norwood (Joann Norwood); 3 daughters, Patricia Everett, Cheryl Harris and Virginia Norwood; 13 grand- children, Tiffany Norwood (Antwaun Hall), Trecia Nor- wood, David J. Norwood, Jr. (Brandon Merriweather), Jim- mie L Norwood, Jr. (Keren Nor- wood), Lana Norwood (Laderius Johnson), Jasmine Norwood (Xavier), Olivia Norwood, War- ren D. MR. QUINCY I. DAVIS
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Quincy I. Davis of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on November 9, 2021, will be held on Saturday, November 20th, 10 a. m. at New Bethel PMB Church, 2914 E. North Bay St., Tampa, FL 33610. Pastor Regi- nal T. Webb, officiating. The in- terment will be held in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Quincy was born April 7, 1951, in Great Lakes, Illinois to Willie Mae and Quincy I. Davis, Sr. He enjoyed dominoes, danc- ing, cooking, football and being a member of New Bethel (the baddest church on this side of heaven).
Quincy was preceded in death by: his parents, Louis and Willie Mae Davis; father, Quincy I. Davis, Sr.; maternal grand- parents, Willie B. and Marie Mc- Daniels; paternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Zollie Davis; spe- cial nephew, David C. Harris.

Quincy was a very loving and caring big brother who was al- ways a protector to his brother and sisters. We loved him and he will be missed.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Martin Luther King Blvd., Fri- day, November 19th from 4-8 p. m. The family is asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service at 9:45 a. m. We are fol- lowing the CDC guidelines.

Ysabel was born on March 8, 1969, in Tampa. Her hobby was listening to music.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ysabel Richez; grandfather, Luis Richez; and uncle, Domingo Richez.

MS. RICCI J. JOHNSON
Ms. Ricci J. Johnson, age 75, gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. in Tampa, FL. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, No- vember 20, 2021, 2:30 – 5:30 PM, at 6503 N. 15th Street, Tampa.
Born August 11, 1946, in Pitts- burgh, Pennsylvania to Margaret and Perry Johnson, Ricci was the eldest of the sister trio, Ricci, Robin and Roice. Before settling in Florida, Ricci worked as a Med- ical Transcriptionist in Pitts- burgh, PA, and as a production engineer for General Motors in Flint, Michigan.
Known as the “Big Kahuna,” Ricci was the matriarch of her family. She faced life obstacles and health obstacles with the same fervent attitude of an over- comer. Ricci lived a full life with a smile and her infectious laugh. She was known for her long, dis- tinctive, signature nails and “ponytail.” Ricci would never let you leave her kitchen with an empty belly or without a piece of her delicious apple pie. A taste of her pie would just melt in your mouth. And sometimes you had to fight off contenders for that bite.
Ricci loved to love on people. She is best known for dropping bits of knowledge and encourage- ment while lending a helping hand to both strangers and those she loved. Ricci fostered an open- door policy, always assisting chil- dren in need, she will be forever cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.
Ricci is preceded in death by: her mother, Margaret Sumpter; her father, Perry Johnson; and her younger sister, Roice John- son.
She leaves to carry on her legacy: her son, Rikky Johnson; daughter, Ricquel Kelly; grand- children, India Johnson, Sydney Johnson, Janaiah Johnson, Kyn- dal Kelly, Kyler Kelly-Lamb, Rikky Johnson, Jr., Kynnedi Grier, and Josiah Johnson; her great- grand, Lei’lani Marie Fran- cois; her sister, Robin Poindexter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
The Walk-Thru Visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 4 – 6 PM, at Without Walls International Church, 4414 N. Grady Ave., Tampa.
