3-Day Weekend Closes Out With ‘Cupid’
The 4th Annual Smooth Breeze Music Festival takes place on Sunday, April 14th with Cupid and The Louisiana Southern Soul Trio - Miss Portia, Roi “Chip” Anthony and Jeter Jones.
Cupid, whose single/dance of the party song, “Cupid Shuffle” broke the Guinness Record for the world’s largest line dance at the Ebony Black Family Reunion Tour, has yet to take a back seat in the music industry. This artist shuffled his way into the hearts of millions with the up-tempo party song “Cupid Shuffle,” which also in- spired the popular dance craze of the same name.
Cupid has virtually re- shaped dance music and cre- ated an entirely new genre. Cupid will launch into a new realm of fame with the re- lease of “Go Head Baby,” his new single the self-pro- claimed “King of the
CUPID
Dance Party” delivers a masterful follow-up to “Cupid Shuffle” that also comes with its own choreog- raphy.
Be prepared to party at the 4th Annual Smooth Breeze Music Festival. Don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes! `For tickets to the 3-Day Weekend Celebration log onto www.toosmoothent.com and for more information, call Too Smooth at (813) 244- 7474.
Tampa Police Department To Honor ‘Citizen Of The Year’
 BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
When Mrs. Ruth J. Fleming received a letter from the Tampa Police Dept., signed by Chief of Police Brian Dugan, it wasn’t any- thing that surprised her or had her wondering why.
She’s President of the Woodland Terrace Neighbor- hood Crime Watch, a position she holds dearly. She works closely with police officers and the Police Dept. trying to in- sure that her neighborhood stays as crime-free as possible, and as clean as possible.
Seeing the word, “Congrat- ulations,” she wanted to read more. That’s when she learned that she had been chosen to re- ceive the distinguished “Tampa Police Department’s Citizen Of The Year Award.”
Chief Dugan said, “Mrs. Fleming is always willing to pitch in for the good of the community, regardless of the
MRS. RUTH J. FLEMING
mission. Her passion and col- laboration with our officers has helped improve the lives and safety of Woodland Ter- race residents.”
Mrs. Fleming will be pre- sented the award of honor on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at the Tampa Convention Center when the Awards Ceremony is held.
Family, led by her hus-
band, Levi Fleming, sup- portive neighbors and friends will be there to share in this special occasion.
Mrs. Fleming is an active member of St. John Progres- sive M. B. Church, Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Pas- tor.
She retired from SunCoast Credit Union after working there 34 years as a Senior Loan Officer, and conducting Hous- ing Seminars.
Before retirement, Mrs. Fleming worked diligently in her community. “I’m working even harder now, helping the elderly, the sick, bereaved, and the children,” she said.
“The Police Department may be honoring me, but this honor goes to the entire Wood- land Terrace Neighborhood Crime Watch members. We’re all very big on keeping the neighborhood clean and safe with the help of TPD and Code Enforcement,” Mrs. Flem- ing, stated.
