Reggie Cobb Passes Away At The Age Of 50
Texts Show Ex-NFL Player,
On Saturday afternoon, the Tampa Bay Buccaneer family was struck by tragedy when news broke that former Vol running back Reggie Cobb had passed away at the age of 50.
Cobb was drafted in the second round of the 1990 NFL Draft by the Buccaneers with the 30th overall pick. Cobb had a successful tenure in Tampa, especially in 1992. That season saw Cobb rush for 1,171 yards and nine touchdowns. After the 1993 season, Cobb’s
Jaguars in the 1995 Expan- sion Draft. Cobb would spend time with Jacksonville and the New York Jets before ending his NFL career.
Cobb, a Knoxville native, was a local star at Central High School for four seasons. He played at Tennessee from 1987 to 1989 and appears in the top 10 of several of the program’s all-time rushing records. As a freshman, Cobb ran for 1,197 yards and 17 touchdowns. After that, Cobb wasn’t quite able to stay on the field for an entire season, but he was still in- credibly productive. Cobb would finish his time as a Volunteer with 2,360 rush- ing yards, 360 receiving yards, and 29 total touch- downs. His 225 yards in a single game against Auburn in 1989 stand as the ninth most for any player in a Vol- unteer jersey.
Patrick Mahomes Signs Endorsement Deal With Oakley
PATRICK MAHOMES
The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to make Patrick Mahomes a very, very rich man at some point in the near future, and the star quarter- back is cashing in on his breakout season in other ways in the meantime.
Mahomes has landed an endorsement deal with Oak- ley. He was featured in a re- cent ad spot with New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge and others.
Mahomes will be eligible to sign a contract extension with the Chiefs after the 2019 season, and we have already heard some insane figures thrown around for what they might pay him. His agent also said recently that the 23-year- old intentionally avoided the spotlight before he became a superstar, so it makes sense that he is now capitalizing on his opportunities.

A Texas teen who is on trial for allegedly murdering his parents was regularly being reprimanded over his poor grades, lying and lax be- havior in the months leading up to the couple’s shooting deaths, prosecutors argued in court, multiple outlets report.
Antonio Armstrong, Jr., 19, is charged with capital murder for allegedly fatally shooting his parents, former NFL linebacker Antonio Armstrong, Sr., and Dawn Armstrong, both 42, in bed while they slept in their Hous- ton home on July 29, 2016, when he was 16, authorities said.
He is being tried as an adult in the case and faces life in prison with the possibility of parole in 40 years.
He is ineligible for the death penalty because he was a minor at the time of the al- leged murders.
On the night of the mur- ders, Armstrong called po- lice at 1:41 a.m. saying he was hiding in a closet because he’d heard gunshots and had seen a masked man in the house, the Chronicle reported at the

When police arrived, they
found no signs of forced entry but did see a .22-caliber pistol on the kitchen counter, prose- cutors said at the time.
The teen let officers into the home after he disabled the security system, prosecutors said.
Armstrong, Jr. pleaded not guilty and has maintained his innocence since his par- ents’ deaths. He “adamantly [denies] that he has commit- ted these murders,” defense attorney Rick Detoto said.
Armstrong, Jr. sobbed hysterically when prosecutors showed autopsy pictures of his parents in court Thursday.

An accidental low blow de- livered by Terence Craw- ford brought a sudden ending to his welterweight title defense against Amir Khan on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.
As Khan was writhing in pain from the sixth-round punch, his trainer, Virgil Hunter, reported that he no longer could fight, making Crawford the winner by technical knockout.
Hunter explained after- ward, “I didn’t want to send him back out there without his legs ... he was in paralyzing type of pain.”
Crawford (35-0, 26 knockouts) knocked down Khan (33-5) in the first round on an overhand right to the top of the head. That harmed Khan’s strategy to try to rack up early rounds and eke out a decision. In- stead, banged up, he absorbed more hurtful blows in the next

Khan was shaking his right hand in the third round as if he hurt that, too. Then, in the sixth, Crawford sent a forceful punch that clearly struck below the belt, and Khan bowed in agony.
The crowd of 14,091 roared boos objecting to the disappointing ending, as those who paid $70 for the pay-per-view likely were, as well.
