   Hillsborough County Sheriff Promotes 38 Employees

promoted several employ- ees. The promotions took place last Friday.
Sheriff Chronister
said, “Each one was chosen because they are the best and most qualified person to help lead this agency. We are grateful for their accom- plishments, and I am ex- cited to see their impact in their new assignments.”
Captain Tiffanie Cole, of the Jail Division, II, and Captain Thomas St. John, of the Commu- nity Outreach Division, were promoted to the rank of Major. They will remain in their respective divisions.
Five employees among the law enforcement and detention services were promoted from Lieutenant to the rank of Captain. They are: Lts. Christopher Baumann, Anthony Collins, Robert Fransen, Preston Hol- lis, and Joseph Janos.
Six individuals were pro- moted from the rank of Ser- geant to that of Lieutenant.

rank of Corporals to Ser- geant. The new Sergeants are: Lucjan Bartkowski, III, Jaclyn Bell, Michael Hannaford, Stephen Hoopes, Jeffrey Hum- phrey, Benjamin Ken- ney, Richard Morales, Samuel Portalatin, and Joseph Soares.
The vacant positions of Corporal will be filled by 16 deputies. They are: Master Law Enforcement Depu-ties Jerry Carey and Jennifer Grecco; Master Detention Deputy Robert Barr; Detention Depu-ties Adam Carson, Jonathan Diehl, Hamil- ton Jordan, Patrick McLane, and Brett Sei- gler.
The others promoted are: Law Enforcement De- tectives Nicole Cara- ballo, Kyle Cummings, Dominique Daniels- Tolber, Manuel Gonza- lez, Jr., Paul Pramberger, Aaron Randall, II, Craig Roberts, and Michael Signoracci.
All of the promotions will take place on Monday, April 8, 2019.
       Woman Chosen As 60th Student Body President At USF

... First African American Student Body President

Last week, the students at the University of South Florida elected a new Stu- dent Body President. Ms. Britney Deas became the school’s 60th president in the history of the university.
According to the institu- tion’s records, Ms. Deas is the first African American woman to serve in this ca- pacity. She is also the first woman elected since 1998.
A native of Miami, Ms. Deas is a junior, majoring in Political Science. She has chosen Mass Communica- tions as her minor. Her plans are to continue her education and earn a law degree. Her goal is “to make a difference through public service and advocacy.”
TRAVIS McCLOSKEY Student Body Vice President
She is currently a mem- ber of the Order of the Golden Brahman, and the USF Student Government Assistant Director of Out- reach.
Her running mate for Student Body Vice President was Travis McCloskey. McCloskey is a military child who is majoring in Business Analytics and In- formation Systems.
His professional aspira- tions include “working as a Project Manager on cyber se- curity projects for user infor- mation security.”
Currently a junior at the university, McCloskey is a member of the Order of the Golden Brahman, USF Am- bassador, and USF Student Government Chief Financial Officer.
