Ben Carson Planning To Leave Trump Administration
House Democrats’ far- reaching document request seeking information from President Trump’s sons, his business associates and his political confidants opened a sprawling investi- gation Monday and cast a spotlight on the ambitious strategy of the committee with the authority to impeach a president.
The House Judiciary Com- mittee sent more than 80 let- ters demanding all communications from a host of controversies surrounding Trump, as the panel probes whether the president and his administration have en- gaged in obstruction of jus- tice, corruption and abuse of power.
But rather than a targeted approach, Monday’s request was broad, reaching current and former campaign staffers, top Trump Organi-

Poll: 64 Percent Believe Trump Committed Crimes Before Presidency
Nearly two-thirds of Americans believe that Don- ald Trump committed crimes before he became president, according to a new Quinnipiac poll conducted after Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen tes- tified to Congress.

Cohen last week gave a high-profile public hearing to Congress in which he com- mented on the president’s personal character, as well as payments made to women to keep quiet about what they said were former affairs with Trump. Cohen also spoke
House Democrats, now in the majority, have said that they will not begin talking about the impeachment process until after special counsel Robert Mueller’s report is released and depend- ing on whether any wrongdoing is revealed.
Housing and Urban De- velopment Secretary Ben Carson has indicated he may leave his position when President Donald Trump completes his first term in of- fice.
Carson made the sugges- tion during a Monday ap- pearance on Newsmax TV in a show hosted by the outlet’s chief political columnist, John Gizzi. "I will certainly finish out this term," Carson told the host near the end of their interview.
Gizzi then pressed him to explain whether he would like to serve a second term. Carson responded: "I would

Roger Stone should be allowed to publish a book he wrote before his arrest de- spite a gag order imposed by the federal judge presiding over his criminal case, his at- torneys argued on Monday.
Stone, a former adviser to President Donald Trump, was barred from speaking publicly about his case on Feb. 21 after he posted a picture on Insta- gram of Judge Amy Berman-Jackson with crosshairs next to her head.
Last week, the judge asked Stone's attorneys to explain why they never mentioned the book during his testi- mony.

The book in question, called "The Myth of Russian Collusion," is an update of Stone's 2016 book about the election, with a new intro- duction that discusses special counsel Robert Mueller's interest in him.
"I now find myself on Crooked Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller's hit list because I've advised Donald Trump for the past forty years," Stone wrote in what the cover image of the book describes as "an explosive new introduction."

The hearings were ahead of Cohen’s three-year prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to lying to Congress, campaign finance violations and other crimes.

The majority of Ameri- cans, however, do not think that Congress should begin the process to impeach Trump. Only 35 percent say the process should begin, compared with 59 percent who say it shouldn’t.
