Davis Destroys Pistons With 59 Points, 20 Boards
ANTHONY DAVIS
Pelicans' Anthony Davis dunks over Pistons' Reggie Jackson in the fourth quarter.
Davis had a career high and Palace record 59 points, he also had 20 rebounds. The Pelicans defeated the Pistons 111-106 Sunday, February 21, 2016, at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Pistons only play teams in the Western Conference two times per season. They’ll be glad to not to see Anthony Davis for a while.
For the second time this sea- son, the All-Star big man torched the Pistons, netting a career-high and Palace-record 59 points and added 20 re- bounds in the Pelicans’ 111-106 victory on Sunday afternoon.
The Pistons (27-29) have lost five straight and are falling fast in their quest for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Dwyane Wade Seeks 'Second Opinion' On Knee
Dwyane Wade said the pain in his left knee is "just some soreness." He will have an MRI on the knee Saturday.
ATLANTA -- All-Star guard Dwyane Wade missed Friday night's 115-111 win over the At- lanta Hawks because of sore- ness in the back of his left knee. Wade described the pain as "just a little uncomfortable." He said he will have an MRI on the knee on Saturday.
"I gave it a couple days to see if it would go away," Wade said. "It didn't, so I just want to go back and get another, second opinion. But it's nothing I'm overly concerned about. It's just some soreness I haven't felt in a while, so I just want to make sure everything's good."
Wade's injury left the Heat with nine healthy players Friday night.
"Obviously it's never a good time," Wade said, "but if you say there's a bad time, this is a bad time."
Guard Gerald Green moved into the starting lineup for Wade.

PHOENIX -- Tony Phillips, an infielder and out- fielder who made the final de- fensive play in the Oakland Athletics' sweep of the San Francisco Giants during the earthquake-interrupted 1989 World Series, has died. He was 56.
The A's didn't provide a cause of death Friday in an- nouncing Phillips' passing, which the club said occurred Wednesday in Arizona and was unexpected.
Former teammate Dave Stewart, however, told the San Francisco Chronicle that Phillips had died from an ap-

parent heart attack.
"T.P. was like my little
brother," Stewart told the Chronicle.
Damian Lillard Scores 51 Points On Curry, Warriors
PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Golden State Warriors tend to lose when you’d least expect.
Before their 137-105 obliter- ation Friday at the hands of the jubilant Portland Trail Blazers, the Warriors had lost to Detroit, Denver, Dallas and Milwaukee. Golden State’s five losses have come from teams that are a combined 19 games under .500.
On Friday, Damian Lil- lard’s 51-point, 31-minute opus not only put his All-Star snub in stark relief, but also served as an emphatic re- minder of why the Warriors, for all their winning, can’t get too comfortable.
“We come to town, espe- cially for a team like that,
DAMIAN LILLARD
[and] it's their biggest game of the year, so we've got to un- derstand that,” Klay Thomp- son said postgame Friday. “They just caught us on an off- night.”

Floyd Mayweather Takes Rmarni Ball To Sit Courtside
FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. AND THE BALL SISTERS
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Ken Griffey Jr. says steroid- tainted slugger Barry Bonds deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
Griffey is serving as hon- orary starter for the Daytona 500, where he will waive the green flag to start the 58th running of "The Great Ameri- can Race."
Before he took his spot in the starter's stand Sunday, he met with the media and one of the first questions was about Bonds belonging in Cooper- stown.
After a long pause, Griffey said "Yeah. I think that overall, when you look what people have done, yeah. It's not my vote, so I can't vote for him. But if you look at what he's done, those numbers speak for themselves."

Has Floyd Mayweather found a bangin’ lil 19-year-old from a small town in England to add to his harem? Well, young Rmarni Ball has been living it up tremendously since hopping a private jet out of her hometown, and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Mayweather has re- portedly jetted the beautiful one from New York, to Las
Vegas, and now to LA... all while treating her to lavish dinners, fancy gifts, courtside seats, and spins in his luxury rides in between.
Rmarni apparently brought her bangin’ older sis-
ter along for the ride...
And Floyd seems to be en-
joying BOTH of their company very much:
And they’re enjoying living it up American style —
