Information Needed To Solve Murder Of Man Found In Alley
Two Teenagers Injured In East Tampa Shooting
DONTAE LAMPKINS
On January 26, 2017, the body of a 25-year-old Tampa man was discovered in an alley in Seminole Heights. He was last seen exiting a HART bus on January 24th.
Tampa Police believe that Dontae Lampkins was lured to the location where his body was found by someone using a social media dating app. They believe he was then robbed and murdered. Lampkins suffered several gunshot wounds and police recovered 11 shell casings from the murder scene.
Steve Hegarty,
spokesman for the Tampa Po- lice Department said, “When- ever people make arrangements online, they need to exercise caution. In this case, it looks like Mr. Lampkins was lured to a spot where someone intended to rob him. Unfortunately, it turned deadly.
“We released the video of Mr. Lampkins in the hopes of jogging someone’s memory. Maybe someone saw him that day and could shed some light on who he might have met just before his death. We are seek- ing the public’s help in identify- ing and apprehending someone

Person Of Interest
During the investigation, detectives interviewed people in the area at the time the body was discovered and developed a person of interest that may be related to the homicide. They released a composite of the per- son of interest on February 3rd. This individual may have been at or near the location at the time of the murder.
He could possibly have been riding a bicycle. Detectives would like to talk with this per- son to determine if he could provide details that could help solve the murder.
