Heat Dion Waiters Suspended 10 Games For Refusing To Snitch On Teammate
DION WAITERS
It’s early in the season but Dion Waiters has had a tu- multuous two weeks with the team.
Over the weekend Wait- ers, who was previously sus- pended by the team during the preseason for conduct detri- mental to the team, reportedly had a medical emergency on the team plane that involved “weed gummies”.
While it was initially re- ported as an “overdose” Wait- ers’ medical emergency was later revealed to be a “panic at- tack” due to consuming a THC edible.
Waiters has now been suspended 10 games by the Heat over the incident.
Apparently, the team be- lieves Waiters was given the gummy by a teammate but he refuses to snitch.
Waiters will lose $2 mil- lion for the 10-day suspension.

Speaking this weekend with TMZ Sports, the Los An- geles Lakers center indicated that he was interested in com- peting in the Dunk Contest

“I thought
about it,” he said. “I’m getting my legs back. I feel young again.”
Howard was quick to note though that his

Antonio Brown is still reportedly scheduled to meet with the NFL on Thursday, but don’t expect that meeting to change much between the two parties. Brown isn’t ex- pected to play again this sea- son, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
Brown has not been sus- pended or placed on the com- missioner’s exempt list, but is currently being investigated for several claims of sexual as- sault made against him in a civil lawsuit filed in Florida. The New England Patriots re- leased him on Sept. 20, and Brown has been a free agent ever since.
Schefter reported that if a team decided to sign him, Brown would be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list immediately. That would require the team to pay him until the NFL finishes its in- vestigation, which could last

the rest of the season. They’d essentially be paying Brown to be investigated, so teams are going to stay away from him until the NFL makes its decision.
Brown went on a social media tirade on Thursday, just hours after the news broke that he would be meeting with the NFL. Brown again pro- claimed that he was done with the NFL and demanded his name be cleared. He later deleted the posts on Twitter and Instagram, and posted a tweet clarifying that he’s “very frustrated” and intends to play again.
Gordon Hayward Suffers Fractured Left Hand
Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward exited Saturday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs with a frac- tured left hand and will not re- turn, the team announced.
Hayward suffered the in- jury with under two minutes remaining in the first half, and an X-ray confirmed its sever- ity. He took a pick from LaMarcus Aldridge and was immediately in pain; Marcus Smart replaced him on the court, and Hayward did not join the team during warmups before the second

Prior to the injury, Hay-
ward had scored nine points on 4-of-9 shooting (1-for-3 from three) with two re- bounds, and one assist, steal and block.
Ric Bucher Clarifies After
Warriors Call Stephen
Curry Report ‘Hogwash’
The Golden State Warriors say any talk of Stephen Curry being out for the re- mainder of the 2019-20 sea- son is not based in fact.
In a feature he published on the Warriors’ demise Thursday, Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher said he was told by a source that Curry’s left hand fracture was “worse than initially thought” and will likely keep the two-time NBA MVP out for the remainder of the year. A short time after, Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle was told by a Golden State source that Bucher’s report is false and that the fracture was no

worse than anticipated. “That’s complete hog- wash,” Letourneau was told. “Like we’ve said, he’s going to get re-evaluated in three months, and we’ll go from there. There’s no reason to be- lieve right now that he can’t
play this season.”
