He is charged with the murders of Ms. Tia Pittman and Stanley Peck, both 38, who were fatally wounded in the 1700 block of Walnut on Halloween. They were the par- ents of two young children, in- cluding a newborn.
According to police, an- other individual was inside the home when the shooting took place. She told police she heard the victims screaming they were being robbed and then heard several gunshots. She also stated that the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.

A third witness told police that prior to the shooting Kendrick had allegedly pro- duced a handgun and said he “was going to do a lick.”
Police were able to obtain several videos that placed both men in the area before and after the shooting. Police have not identified the second per- son who was riding with Kendrick.

Police have not identified the victims. However, family members identified them in local published articles. Ac- cording to the articles, the woman was identified as Ms. Tia Pittman and the man as Stanley Peck.
According to that article, Ms. Pittman had just given birth to a baby. The infant and their other child was home at the time of the shooting.
Kendrick is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond. The investigation is continuing.
MS. RENE WILLIAMS
A Tampa man was taken into custody less than 24 hours after being involved in a deadly shooting. He was arrested last Thursday afternoon and is cur- rently being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail.
Richard Miller, 49, was taken into custody shortly after 3:30 p.m., Thursday on an ac- tive warrant. The arrest took place in the 1600 block of Marks Drive, in the Sulphur Springs area.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 8:30 p.m., last Wednesday, deputies re- sponded to the parking lot of the Westchester Apartments. When they arrived at Nina Eliz- abeth Circle, they discovered a woman had been shot. She was transported to Brandon Re- gional Hospital, where she later died.
Miller was identified as the alleged gunman and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The victim has been identi- fied as Ms. Rene Williams, a paraprofessional with the Hills- borough County School Dis- trict.
Ms. Williams joined the school district in 2002 as a paraprofessional working with special needs children. She was

currently working at Foster El- ementary School at the time of her death.
Prior to being assigned to Foster Elementary, Ms. Williams worked at Lavoy Ex- ceptional Center and at Cole- man Middle School.
Her principal, Dr. Francine Lazarus said, “Ms. Williams was a mother figure to so many people on campus. She would look after the younger teachers and make sure they were doing ok, have lunch with a custodian with special needs —- she just looked out for so many people and never took any credit for herself.
“She would work all day at Foster Elementary and then continue with another shift as- sisting adults with special needs.
“Whenever there was food on campus for a special event or teacher appreciation, she would pretend to make a plate for herself, but then bring it to the custodians and never eat anything herself. She always thought about other people first,” Dr. Lazarus said.
Funeral services for Ms. Williams were incomplete at press time. Aikens Funeral Home is in charge of handling arrangements.
Man Convicted Of Possession Of A Firearm And Cocaine
A 39-year-old man was convicted of being in posses- sion of a firearm and ammuni- tion last week. He was found guilty after a jury trial.
Danyel Megal Black, of Bradenton, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years, and up to life, in federal prison. His sentencing hearing is pending. He was indicted on August 27, 2019.
According to testimony presented at trial, on February 19, 2019, Black was serving a term of probation from a state court sentence. His probation officer had scheduled a home compliance visit and search for that day. The probation of- ficer did not inform Black of the search.
A team of law enforcement officers arrived at Black’s

apartment to perform the search. Black arrived at his residence over half an hour late and let the officers into the apartment, which he shared with his girlfriend and their two small children.
During the search, the offi-
cers found nearly half an ounce of cocaine in a plastic bag, along with a razor, in Black’s nightstand next to his bed. That same drawer con- tained several small baggies of individually wrapped cocaine. Officers also discovered a loaded 9mm magazine in the bedroom linen closet. In the kitchen, they found an orange pot and scale, both containing cocaine residue.
Inside a dresser drawer in Black’s two-year-old son’s room, officers discovered a stolen, loaded gun. In addi- tion, they found two cell- phones and $1,865 in Black’s car.
As a previously convicted felon, Black is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
