‘A Celebration Of Love’ Honoring Reverend Dr. C. P. Epps
Meetings Set For Proposals On Parks And Recreation Master Plan

“A Celebration of Love” is being held for Dr. C. P. Epps, a Spiritual Giant in the Tampa Bay Area and abroad, on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 4 p. m. The Bay Area Community is invited to join as we shower him with Bless- ings of love and appreciation.
Dr. Epps was the Pastor of Mt. Olive Missionary Bap- tist Church for over 52 con- secutive years. During his tenure, numerous projects were completed, such as con- struction of two new churches and an education building.

Dr. Epps still holds the esteemed position of Elder Statesman for Progressive Missionary & Educational Baptist State Convention of Florida, Inc. He retired as Moderator of the First South
Florida District Association. Prior to that, he was Presi- dent of Congress Number Four, Auxiliary to the First South Florida District Associ- ation. Then, prior to that, he was Vice President of Con- gress Number Four.
Dr. Epps received his Honorary Doctorate Degree from Florida Theological Seminary after completing 8 years of academic pursuit. Dr. Epps has been in the Ministry for over 53 years but only pastored for 52 years.
Even after retirement, Dr. Epps has fulfilled nu- merous requests to deliver Sermons across the State. On every opportunity afforded, he still talks to anyone who desires to hear the Word of God. He is the spiritual epit- ome of a true Servant of God who will work until his day is done.
Dr. Epps has received numerous awards and acco- lades for his untiring work in the Ministry. He is married to Mrs. Lillian Scurry Epps, and together they have 10 children.
The Celebration will be held at New Mt. Zion Mis- sionary Baptist Church, 2511 East Columbus Drive, Tampa, FL 33605, on Sun- day, November 17, 2019, 4 p. m.
A mass choir of former members is requested and participants are asked to ar- rive no later than 3:30 p. m.

The City of Tampa and the Tampa Parks and Recre- ation Department are cur- rently seeking proposals from qualified consultants on a Master Plan for the Parks and Recreation Department. Sev- eral meetings have been scheduled throughout the community to discuss the issue.
The proposals are to pro- vide planning services in the development of a comprehen- sive Parks and Recreation Master Plan, providing direc- tion and priorities required to meet the city’s parks and recreation needs of our resi- dents well into the future.
To begin this process a se- ries of eight public input meetings are scheduled throughout the City of Tampa to provide ample opportuni- ties for residents to discuss their vision for the City, as it relates to the future of parks and recreation facilities and programs.
This outreach will provide the opportunity to engage our communities across Tampa. Comments will be recorded at the meetings and provided to the consulting firm selected to complete the master plan. This community input will be invaluable to the consultant as they move forward with the master plan process in 2020.
