Distinguished Award Recipients
   To Host Financial
Two attorneys with Tampa ties were among 7 recognized as Distin- guished Award Recipients when the National Bar Association Wiley A. Branton Awards Luncheon was held recently in Orlando.
Seminar, Business Pitch Contest
The Honorable Peggy A. Quince, Chief Justice, The Supreme Court of Florida, and the Honorable Arthenia L. Joyner, NBA Past President and Florida State Senate, were recipients of the 30th Wiley A. Branton Symposium Dis- tinguished Award.
Justice Quince and the Hon- orable Joyner were joined by: the Honorable Darrin P. Gayles, The United States District Court South- ern District of Florida; Reginald M. Turner, NBA Past President, Member, Clark Hill, PLC; Michael S. Rosier, NBA Past President, Principal, Rosier & Asso- ciates; Vanita M. Banks, NBA Past President, Corporate Cyberse- curity Expert; and Cynthia A. Everett, Attorney-at-Law, Miami, Florida.
The 20th Anniversary Festival teams up with 5508 Co-Working & Col- laboration Exchange for January 10, 2020 “Level Up” Business Pitch Com- petition.
The 20th Anniversary Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival (TBBHF20) an- nounces annual Financial Seminar, Luncheon, and “Level Up” Small Business Pitch Competition powered by TD Bank, N.A., and in col- laboration with 5508 Co- Working and Collaboration Exchange.
The Financial Seminar will take place on Friday, January 10, 2020, at 5508 Co-Working & Collaboration Exchange, Suite 20 (5508 N. 50th Street, Tampa, Florida 33610), with doors opening at 10:30 a. m. There is a cost per person and will include a panel discussion on Lending & Credit Repair, Luncheon, and Small Business Pitch Competition. The business seminar will provide participants with the knowledge of building and restoring one’s credit and how to build business credit as well. Also, learn about debt consolidation and how it affects entrepreneurs.
The commercial lending aspect will teach participants what banks are looking for from businesses and learn how to better ones chances of being approved for lending to expand their business.
Seminar presenters in- clude:
Alan Borden, Esq., is a Consumer Protection Lawyer who advocates on behalf of Consumers in financial trou- ble for over 10 years. A grad- uate in Government from the University of Texas and a
Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law, Alan handles cases ranging from foreclosure de- fense, creditor harassment, bankruptcy, mortgage modi- fication, identity theft and debt settlement.
Tiffany Kleber is a Vice President and Business Rela- tionship Manager for TD Bank in the Tampa Bay Mar- ket. Tiffany has over 15 years in the banking and fi- nancial services industry. She joined TD in 2017 and covers portions of Hillsborough and Polk Counties. She is respon- sible for clients with loan needs that are less than $1 million in total exposure and works with various partners to advise clients on all bank- ing needs.
The Level Up Pitch Competition’s objective is to support the development of ventures from ideation to commercialization. The high- est-ranking business partici- pating in the competition will receive a $1,000 prize to help accelerate their busi- ness, free office space for one year, as well as access to a va- riety of supports and services offered by the 5508 Co- Working and Collaboration, including valuable training and networking opportuni- ties.
The contest reflects the commitment of the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival and Tampa Hillsborough Ac- tion Plan, Inc. (THAP) to support innovation and en- trepreneurship for economic prosperity in Hillsborough County.
