Early Morning Shooting Leaves Woman Dead
The body of the unidentified woman was found around 5 a.m., in the 1000 block of E. 25th Avenue.
Man Killed In Police-Involved Shooting Identified
      Police officers were dis- patched to the 1000 block of E. 25th Avenue, in reference to a shooting.
When they arrived at the location, they discovered an adult had been fatally wounded.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the report of shots being fired was re- ceived shortly after 5 a.m.,
Tuesday. The woman died at the scene.
The investigation is in the preliminary stages. However, police said it does not appear to be a random act.

A man killed in a police-in- volved shooting last week has been identified. The shooting took place Tuesday night in East Tampa.
He has been identified as 26-year-old Jonas Joseph, of Princeton, Florida.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers at- tempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle. The vehicle was wanted in connection with a shooting that had taken place on April 24th.
In that incident, a white Chevrolet Impala with black wheels and a distinctive front black bumper had reportedly drove north on N. 53rd Street. The occupants of the vehicle fired several shots into a resi- dence and fled the scene.
An adult female inside the home was struck by the gun- fire. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police said it did not appear to be a random act. However, police do not believe the woman was the intended target.
Officers in the area were on the lookout for a vehicle fitting that description. Shortly be- fore midnight Tuesday, offi-

cers observed the vehicle in the 3400 block of E. Palifox.
Backup officers were also on the scene when police at- tempted the traffic stop. The driver, later identified as Joseph, reportedly pulled into a driveway of a residence, put the vehicle in reverse, and backed into a police vehicle that had pulled up behind him. The vehicle then crashed into a tree.
Armed with a handgun, Joseph is alleged to have ex- ited the vehicle firing at the police officers. Joseph was fa-
tally injured when officers re- turned fire. Joseph died at the scene, police said.
Joseph has a criminal record in Hillsborough County dating back to 2015. The charges include: fleeing and eluding police; false imprison- ment, battery on a law en- forcement officer, robbery, auto burglary, smuggling con- traband into a detention facil- ity, being a felon in possession of a firearm, burglary of a structure, and drug charges.
The 6-year veteran officer who was the victim in the shooting, was not injured. Other officers involved in the incident and their years of service were identified as Sgt. Robert Fannin, 21 years; Officer Alexander Chris- ton, 7 years; Officer Duk- agjin Maxhunt, 7 years; and Officer Nicholas Disparti, 6 years.
All of the officers have been placed on administrative leave as is protocol, pending the out- come of the joint investiga- tions.

  The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office would like to speak with two people shown in this photograph who may be witnesses in the homicide investigation.

Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Office are seeking information about a recent murder. They would like to speak with two people who are possible witnesses in the case.
The fatal shooting took place in the 100 block of Sycamore Lane on Saturday, April 25th. However, the man’s body was not discovered until the following day.
According to police, deputies received a call about a man on the ground shortly after 1 p.m., Sunday. When deputies arrived, they found a deceased man. The unidenti- fied man had a gunshot wound.
As the investigation took place, deputies learned from neighbors that they had heard what they believed were fire- works between 8 p.m. and 10
p.m. Saturday. No one con- tacted police.
Detectives are searching for two men who they consider possible witnesses. The men were seen exiting Sycamore Lane and heading towards Williams Road.
The description of the African American men is they are between 5’9” and 6’1” and were both wearing dark col- ored face coverings.

14-Year-Old
Shooting
Police are investigating a shooting that left a 14-year-old injured by gunfire. The incident took place Tuesday night.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 11300 block of Terrace North, in Largo, in ref- erence to a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered that a 14-year-old girl had been shot in the left hand and arm. She was transported to a local hos- pital with non-life threatening injuries.
During the investigation, police learned that the shooting had occurred outside the home. They also learned that two juve- nile male suspects had fled the scene together in a vehicle be- fore police arrived.
The investigation is contin- uing.
