Man Charged In Fatal Hit And Run Death Of Bicyclist
    Woman Found Dead
A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an acci- dent involving a death. The accident took place at the in- tersection of W. Gray Street and N. Gomez Avenue.
According to Tampa Po- lice, the accident took place Wednesday evening around 7 p.m. The unidentified adult man was riding a bicycle north on N. Gomez Avenue when he turned east onto W. Gray Street.
The bicyclist turned into the path of a Jeep being driven by Seth D. Lapen- sohn, of Goldwyne, PA. The bicyclist was thrown from the bicycle and died at the scene.
Lapen- sohn did not stop after the collision and fled the scene. Almost an hour after the acci- dent, he re-

On Saturday, February 22nd, the body of a Tampa woman was discovered by a citizen around 2 p.m. She died at the scene.
The victim has been iden- tified as 50-year-old Sharon G. Johnson, of Tampa. During the course of the in- vestigation, police have

Officers observed damage
to the vehicle and Lapen- sohn reportedly admitted to being involved in the acci- dent.
He was given a DUI test and taken into custody. He was charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an acci- dent involving a death.
learned that Ms. Johnson was hit by a vehicle some- where near Picnic Island.
The detectives, as well as Ms. Johnson’s family is asking anyone with informa- tion to come forward.
If anyone witnessed the incident or who knows any-
thing about it is asked to come forward. The investiga- tion is continuing.

   Bond Set At $1.1 Million For Burglary Suspect
 A 33-year-old man is being held on a $1.1 million bond in connection with high end burglaries. He was ar- rested and is being held in the Ventura, California jail.
According to the Tampa Police Department, a bur- glary took place in Tampa on April 27, 2019. The suspects turned off the power at Marcelo’s Fine Jewelry, 3117 W. Columbus Drive. Once in- side, they cut through a metal door and gained access to a room with four large safes.
The suspects gained ac- cess to one of the safes and fled the scene with more than $300,000 in gold and jew- elry. The suspects had also left several used water bottles inside the store on the counter. The bottles were collected as evidence.
The DNA results on the water bottle matched those

of a Los Angeles Police De- partment case that had taken place in February 2019. In this case, the home of an unidentified celebrity had
been burglarized and jewelry was taken. A burglary tool was located and placed in ev- idence.
On October 3, 2019, Marcelo Romero was ar- rested by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and charged with residential burglary, and other crimes. Police also found stolen jewelry and an acetylene torch in the apart- ment.
Tampa detectives ob- tained a DNA sample from Romero. On January 28, 2020, the DNA results linked Romero to a water bottle found in the jewelry store in Tampa.
