Black Brown College Bound Summit Planned
President of Hillsborough Community College and Dr. Joan Holmes, Retired Spe- cial Assistant to the Presi- dent for Diversity and Special Programs, have teamed up again to sponsor the 15th Annual Black Brown and College Bound Summit (BBCB). The BBCB Summit is responding to the national need to address the under- representation of Black and Latino males enrolled in and graduating from college. Over 40 colleges, nationally, including Florida colleges, have participated in this Summit.
The BBCB Summit will be held during March 2-5, 2022 at the Tampa Convention Center. This year's theme is "Black and Brown Men Mat- ter: Education Success and Justice.”

The BBCB Opening Speaker (March 3rd) will be Julian Castro, former presidential candidate and former United States Secre- tary of Housing and Urban Development under Presi- dent Barack Obama.

City Releases East Tampa Transportation Study
The City of Tampa is ask- ing members of the public to join a virtual meeting on Wednesday, February 9th, at 6:30 PM to hear results, rec- ommendations, and next steps from the recent trans- portation study that took place within the City Center at Hanna Avenue study area. Representatives from the City's Mobility Department will share short-term, medium-term, and long-term
recommended improve- ments.
