Students Arrested For Making Threats
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested two students Wednesday. Both students were charged with “making a false report con- cerning planting a bomb, an explosive, or a weapon of mass destruction or concerning the use of a firearm in a violent manner.”
The first incident took place at 11:30 a.m., at Turkey Creek Middle School. The male student made threaten- ing statements to his teacher in front of his class. After claiming that he was “going to do Florida Round 2 tomor- row,” the student was taken from the class and searched. No weapons were found.
During the investigation, he was arrested, charged, and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
The second incident took place at approximately 3:10 p.m., at Armwood High School. An unidentified male student made a statement while on the bus ramp that caused the witnesses who heard him to be in fear.

The student reportedly said that he had a machine gun and was going to “shoot up the school.” He also said to the witnesses that he was going to “kill his animals when he got home,” and told them he had a bomb with him at the school.
When the student was con- fronted by teachers, he made similar statements in their presence. Deputies inter- viewed the student and during the course of the investigation, took him into custody. He was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
The investigation revealed
there were no bombs or weapons found.
Hillsborough County
Sheriff Chad Chronister
said, he is taking a “no-non- sense” attitude regarding threats at the schools. He is encouraging members of the community to help identify the persons making the threats, get them out of the schools, and behind bars.
“The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and our dedi- cated cadre of School Re- source Deputies, remain hyper-vigilant to any threats or vows of violence, whether they are cryptic statements on social media, so called “copy- cat” threats, or words spoken between students.
“Law enforcement and ed- ucators depend on students, parents, and caregivers to alert us when they hear something or sense that something is not right. I implore everyone to do the right thing when it comes to our children’s safety. Don’t stay silent or in the shadows. Be heard and maybe save a life.”
