White House And Political News
At George H. W. Bush's Funeral, Trump, Clintons Don't Shake Hands
President Trump ex- changed greetings with his predecessor Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama after ar- riving at George H.W. Bush’s funeral Wednesday, but there was a noticeable lack of warmth between the commander-in-chief and the woman he defeated to win the White House.
Bush’s funeral brought to- gether all of the living former presidents – Obama, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter – as well as Trump and first lady Melania Trump.
The pair was seated in the front row of the Washington National Cathedral next to the Obamas. Trump shook hands with Obama and for- mer first lady Michelle Obama, who greeted him by saying, "Good morning," be- fore he took his seat. Mela- nia Trump also shook hands with the Obamas and Bill Clinton and nodded at

But neither President
Trump nor the Clintons appeared to acknowledge one another when the president arrived. Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presi- dential nominee, stared straight ahead while former President Bill Clinton glanced over.

throughout their 2016 presi- dential campaigns – and their feud has continued into Trump’s presidency.

Mueller Recommends No Prison Time For Michael Flynn, Citing ‘Substantial’ Cooperation
Possible 2020 Candidate Joe Biden Believes ‘He’s The Most Qualified Person To Be President’
ROBERT MUELLER
MICHAEL FLYNN
WASHINGTON — Spe- cial counsel Robert Mueller has recommended that Michael Flynn be spared jail time, calling his cooperation with the Russia investigation “substantial.”
Prosecutors with Muel- ler’s team filed a memo on Tuesday night detailing the investigation’s sentencing recommendations for Flynn, who pleaded guilty last year to lying to the FBI about reaching out to Russian gov- ernment officials on Presi- dent Donald Trump’s behalf.
The special counsel faced a Tuesday deadline in Flynn’s case to file the memo and provide a federal judge with a description of how valuable the retired U.S. Army lieutenant general has been to the probe. The dead- line comes ahead of Flynn’s Dec. 18 sentencing and more than a year after his guilty plea.
Federal sentencing guide-
lines recommended between zero and six months in prison for Flynn.
The memo also cited his "record of military and public service” as another reason to be lenient.
The detailing of at least some of Flynn’s cooperation also comes as Trump has in- creasingly vented his anger at the probe - and at one of his former confidantes who co- operated with it.
This week, Trump lashed out at his former legal fixer, Michael Cohen, saying he is making up "stories" to get a reduced prison sentence after his latest guilty plea to lying to Congress detailed conversations he had with the then-Republican presi- dential candidate. In the same morning, Trump praised longtime confidante Roger Stone for saying he would "never testify against Trump," adding in his tweet: "Nice to know some people still have 'guts!'"
As we get closer to the start of 2019, it means we’re also getting closer to the start of the 2020 Presidential Race, and one very big name is making it known he thinks he can do the job. Former Vice President Joe Biden said his decision would come in the next six weeks to two months, re- ports CNN.
“I think I’m the most qual- ified person in the country to be president,” Biden said on Monday. “The issues that we face as a country today are

“But my family and I need to decide as a unit whether we’re ready,” he added. “We do everything as a family.”
Biden made the com- ments in Montana where, ac- cording to The Missoula Current, he was promoting the paperback release of his book, “Promise Me, Dad.” Biden has twice unsuccess- fully run for president in 1988 and 2008.
Bernie Sanders Weighs Presidential Bid, Despite Worries About Age
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is reportedly eyeing a 2020 Democratic presiden- tial campaign that will be “bigger” than his first, accord- ing to The Associated Press.
While a final decision has not been made, advisors to the 77-year-old longtime Ver- mont senator say he is unde- terred by age and his potential youthful competi- tors or fellow Boomer Joe

“This time, he starts off as a front-runner, or one of the front-runners,” Sanders’ 2016 campaign manager John Weaver told The AP.
“It’ll be a much bigger campaign if he runs again, in terms of the size of the opera- tion,” he added
