Victim In Temple
Man Charged With Using Counterfeit Credit Card

A 43-year-old man was ar- rested last week for using a counterfeit credit card. He was charged with credit card fraud.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, just before noon on June 3, a man entered Tropical Smoothie Café, 11011 Cause- way Blvd., in Brandon. He paid for two purchases, $12.24 and $4.10), with a counterfeit credit card.
The name on the card was that of an elderly woman who had not realized her identity had been stolen, police said. She did not know the man using the card.
The suspect was identified as Carl Emanuel Thomas. He was located and arrested on September 12th by the Mar- ion County Sheriff’s Office. Thomas faces the charges of fraudulent use of personal in- formation of an elderly per- son and fraudulent use of a credit card.
Teenager Arrested For Making School Threat
Terrace Murder
A 16-year-old St. Peters- burg student was arrested last Thursday. He was charged with making a false report of a bomb/firearm to conduct bodily harm.
The Gibbs High School student was arrested for say- ing in class that he would
shoot up the school.
A spokesperson said,
“The St. Petersburg Police Department takes all school threats very seriously for the safety of our students. Threatening comments or posts will always be investi- gated.”
Identified
Detectives with the Tem- ple Terrace Police Depart- ment have identified the victim in a shooting death. The murder took place last Tuesday evening at a local apartment complex. Police are also continuing their search for two men who they consider “persons of interest” in the case.
According to police, the deceased victim has been identified as 21-year-old Tyler Drejon Ford. The identity of the second gun- shot victim has not been re- leased.
The day of the shooting, officers were dispatched to the Boardwalk at Morris Bridge Apartments, in the 8700 block of Boardwalk Path Drive, shortly before 6:30 p.m. When they arrived, they discovered Ford had died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
The second person was transported to a nearby hos- pital with gunshot injures.

6 Arrested After Fights At High School
led detectives to consider two men as persons of interest. The two men were riding in a green Kia Soul that was seen at the apartment complex. They have been identified as Marcus Leauan King, of Brandon, and Iver Leon Rogers, II, of Tampa. De- tectives are continuing their efforts to locate both men. No additional information on the murder was available at press time.

Last Thursday, six teenagers were arrested at a local high school after a se- ries of fights. Two students were transported to local hospitals.
According to a spokesman for the Tampa Police Department, the first fight began around 1:30 p.m., in the courtyard at Middleton High School, 4801 N. 22nd Street. After that, several other students began fight- ing.
One of the students in- volved in one of the fights re- portedly struck his head and was transported to the hospi- tal as a precaution.
One unidentified student reportedly struck or pushed
an officer. The officer took out his pepper spray and it discharged accidentally, coming in contact with a dif- ferent student. That student was accidentally sprayed was also transported to a local hospital.
Five of the students were charged with an affray and disrupting a school function. The other student was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and dis- rupting a school function.
A spokeswoman from the Hillsborough County School District said the students in- volved are from different neighborhoods and they are bringing their disputes to school.
Student Arrested For Making Threats To ‘Blow Up’ School

A Tampa teenager was ar- rested last week for making threats against his high school. The incident took place last Thursday.
The 15-year-old Middle- ton High School student was arrested after he allegedly posted a threat against his school on social media. The written threat referred to “blowing up” the school and using an automatic weapon on students.
The threat was posted anonymously. However, Tampa Police and school se- curity personnel were able to determine where it origi-
nated. When officers arrived at the teenager’s home, he de- nied making the threat.
However, with his father’s cooperation, police were able to track the threat to the teen’s phone. He admitted to the threat, but said he didn’t mean it.
He was charged with mak- ing a written threat to con- duct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism, police said.
Last month, law enforce- ment and school officials warned students that making threats against schools are a serious matter and would re- sult in serious consequences.
